Sorry, everyone. Family issues prevented me from doing the pregame writeup on Northern Arizona and Portland State over here. It was the first start for Vikings quarterback, Connor Kavanaugh, and what we showed was that we are a totally different team with Kavanaugh than with Drew Hubel. Kavanaugh does not have the arm strength that Hubel has, which made us into a running team instead of our typical passing team. I did not see the Vikings play Montana, but I can say that, of the PSU games I've seen, with the exception of Pac-10 Oregon State, Northern Arizona is the best team I've seen this year. They do not do one thing exceptionally, but they do everything really well. Herrick does a great job managing the team and getting the best out of them.
Final Score
Northern Arizona 44
Portland State 23

I was pleasantly suprised by the score - the margin was larger than I thought was possible.
NAU is getting better every week (or at least Herrick is).

That is a scary thought.

NAU played us as good as anyone has this year. I think that NAU, Weber, EWU, Montana, and MSU are all on about the same level this year so far. NAU getting better each week should be scary for anybody in the country if they make the playoffs. I sure hope we start playing a little better on offense real soon cuz we seem to be running at 75-80% right now.
