Looking forward to a standing room only crowd. Hope SIU brings some decent numbers.

Seeing the number of rushing yards that UNI gave up to NDSU could help out SIU...will be a fun and tough game.

Seeing the number of holds that weren't called and will be this week will make a huge difference.

Like someone said in another thread, when you see a jump in calls it is because too many weren't called last week. This is going to be a prime example of it.

Both teams come in with question marks regarding how good are they really, and both were looking past their last opponent to this week. From the SIU end of things what really gets our attention is that NDSU rolled up 500+ yards of offense on UNI. We know they can run, Paschall had 150 against us, but Mertens throwing for 300 is an eye opener. If SIU can pass early it could open things up for Karim, who, imo, presents a much greater threat than Paschall because of the breakaway speed he displayed on his two 90+ yard TD runs in the last two games. I think that throwing to set up the run is the best way to attack UNI.

A lot, and I mean a lot, of Mertens yards came when NDSU had to throw the ball because they were down by 2 or 3 scores and UNI fell into a tampa 2 look.

But he had time to throw. If we can put you in the Tampa Two early Karim may see a little running room.

Pretty hard to figure if this is going to be a 17-14 game or a 38-35 game.

He had time to throw because we weren't bringing anybody.  Do you play NCAA football on the playstation, xbox, or anything like that.  The defense UNI ran looked like one of the plays they hvae there...something likeImageRuffin wouldn't rush every play either, there were times he would spy, or we would have a LB spy leaving a zone open.  That is where Mertens got his yards.Unless the refs let SIU get away with holds this week, which I don't think they will, the run game won't be as effective as NDSU's was.I do agree with not knowing what game we will see.  It could be 10-7 just as easily as 48-51

After giving up 27 to NDSU? Let's bet for whatever you're smoking, it's obviously the real deal. :coffee:

7 of the 27 came on a blocked punt
7 of the 27 came with 22 seconds left when UNI just wanted to get out of the shithole known as Fargo

Agreed. And as noted, I don't remember seeing UNI blitz once.

You're going to need to bring somebody this week. If you don't need to you deserve the win.

We will, there is no question about it.

Ruffin had 2 sacks last week while being double a lot because of the lack of blitzing. I have a feeling we will see some saftey blitzs with Jamar Thompson and some run stuffing blitz with Elijah Hodge. There will be plenty of pressure for the Ugly Baby Eating Dogs to deal with.

Both teams defenses spent a lot of time on the field against NDSU. It will be interesting to see how many offensive plays each team gets.

I just LOVE listening to the coaches on the radio gettin' interviewed by the media weenies....they can go through a 10 minute interview and not say ONE THING. Just a bunch of tired cliches, and those media dorks eat that shit UP.
