Colgate looks bad. Unless they put about 40 on the board in the second half and completely shut Princetown down, they will probably fall from my rankings.

I barley had them in, but they definitely will not be in my poll next week. Undefeated against worthless competition proves nothing other than we aren't as bad as the other guys.

21-14 Colgate in 2OT.

They won't be in my rankings next week. Way to give a great showing of what top 25 football in the FCS is all about. Holy crap, you looked like 2 small class high schools going at it. In fact the HS game on ESPN2 seemed to have better talent on them.

Until Colgate or Holy Cross beat anyone, there is no reason to rank either one. Patriot League is very weak this year.

And that differs from any OTHER year, HOW?

We have the Patriot League equivalent on the West Coast. We call it the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

You dont know what your talking about.

The PL isnt the best conference in FCS, but we have some teams that can hang. Holy Cross beat Northeastern-- not their fault Northeastern sucks this year, but they scheduled a CAA team Colgate usually plays an full scholly team, but not this year. (Furman skipped this year). We play our traditional rivals in the Ivy league--who else would you expect to play when you have such tradition?

Lafayette and Colgate have been playing Penn and Princeton since before Arizona was a state. Sorry we dont change for irrelevant website pollsters.

We aren't the only pollsters that had them rated. Other polls did, and it was a damn shame that they were called the 23rd best FCS team in the nation on national TV and play like that against a TERRIBLY HORRENDOUS Princeton team. We want respect in the FCS, and having them ranked and playing on national TV is not they way to do it.

Oh no-- the 8 guys who vote in the poll will knock out Gate...what will the PL do????

Colgate didnt rank themselves or ask to have their game televised. Also this was a typical Colgate game in some ways, they dont win pretty all the time but they stick around and find a way to win in the end. Winning when playing poorly is also the mark of a good team.

Also yes the game was ugly, but let me remind you that both of these teams played on Saturday. Typically teams have the week prior to a Thursday game off-- not the case here. Basically the teams had one day of real practice to prepare for this game, and many of the playters were stil probably sore. When I played my bumps and brusies from the Saturday before were still workin their way out on Thursday and these kids were playing another game.

No way around it Frank.....Colgate isn't a top 25 team.

That game might have also sealed the deal on keeping a 2nd Patriot Team out of the playoffs. Laying an egg on national TV will do things like that.

Even more embarrasing than the horrnedous play last night, was the horrendous attendance. WTF? Should have played the game in Hamilton. At least they'd get 5,000 or so.

I really dont care about polls and I dont vote in them for that reason. If you feel Colgate isnt a top 25 thats fine, I dont really know as I dont concern myself with such things. What I do know is that everyone tends to underestimate Colgate. Then you play them and are like "what happened..how did we lose"

They just find a way

Perhaps. And I know you aren't one of "those guys", but I cannot understand why PL fans cannot see view their teams objectively in the realm of rest of FCS football. Its so easy to get them riled up (see my post on AGS) but in all honesty, I don't get it.

I understand your frustration and acklowledge teams like Albany and CCSU and certianly Liberty can play with and beat the PL best. The worst of the PL (Bucknell and G-twon) is about as bad as anyone as well.

Some PL fans cling to our success in the early part of this decade -- and it still carries a bit of weight, but less every year. I think that Albany could potentially do just as well the the playoffs as the PL champs-- but that goes for the MEAC and OVC as well. I understand that the PL is really on par with the Ivies, NEC, MEAC, Big South, and OVC at this point.
