Who does Indiana State get their first win in forever against? I started this because I did a write up deal on the game I think it will happen, not realizing that its not for several weeks yet, hence this thread. Anyways, it has to happen some day, and I personally think this is the year. They have a solid defense, except for the UNI game. They hold a lot of teams close for the first half until they get tired out cause their offense doesn't like to be on the field too long cause their jerseys get dirty. There is a team setup that they can win against. A team with a mediocre offense and a bad defense. Two teams come to mind for me, and that would be NDSU and WIU, and heres my pick for who gets the horrible upset.
Ind St.@WIU-Yes, I picked the Trees. Mostly because I hope that they can throw the upset and finally get the win, but there are several legitimate factors for me picking it now. WIU does not have a good defense from what I've seen and heard. Also their offense is mediocre after losing Donaldson, and they are fairly one dimensional. This bodes well for the hapless Sycamores. They have a pretty good defense actually, just no offense. They are playing at home, against a WIU team that probrably looking past them a bit, just like every team has besides UNI. If you look at it the trees were in most of their games at halftime, at least the conference ones. Their D comes out and shuts down the Leatherneck offense, and mabey even gets a defensive score, while their offense manages to cobble a drive together to score and give them the lead, and even keep the defense off the field for more than three plays a series, letting their defense stay fresher the whole game and play all four quarters, instead of 3 1/2 like the YSU game. The trees snap the streak, and I for one, throw a party in their honor. 17-7
