Who Still Plays on Carpet?

Wondering how many FCS teams still play on Astro-Turf. Of the top of my head, I can think of North Dakota, South Dakota, NDSU, and Idaho St........all dome teams.

Are there any others still playing on Astro-Turf?

Gosh, why don't you join the new century and get the new turf...

Gosh it feels good to be able to say that.

All kidding aside I think that may be it. The other 2 dome teams that come to mind, UNI and NAU, have Mondoturf and Spinturf (I believe) respectively.

I would be nice if those other schools could get new turf but I don't know if any of them can afford it, with the exception of NDSU (who might not be able too but seems like the most likely of those). UNI would still have astroturf if it wasn't for a huge grant from the Blackhawk County Gaming Association.

NDSU's problem is what they use the FargoDome for. They are constantly having to take the field in and out for certain occasions (concerts, shows, etc.)

The place would be pretty damn sweet with SprinTurf or Mondoturf, or any version of speed turf.

UNI has all kinds of events in the dome as well, craft shows, concerts, basketball camps, wrestling camps, national wrestling duals, indoor track, softball, career fairs, and I could keep going. It took a long time, but we found one that modoturf puts out that can be rolled and not use the same fill that Spin and Fieldturf use.

Well then I'm sure NDSU is looking into it. Would be a MUCH needed and appreciated upgrade.

It took UNI months to figure it out. I think Coach Farley, AD Troy Dannen, and some others from the athletic department started meeting with turf companies in late Jan. and didn't have one picked/found until late May.

However, UNI was the first college to use the mondoturf that could be rolled, I believe, so that could be why it took longer. Now that something has been found it could go much quicker for NDSU if they get the funds for it.

Funds wouldn't be a problem if there would be something that works in the FD. I'm sure as well that they are looking into it. I played on it in HS and it's not the best...

App had carpet until 2005 when it switched to Field Turf.

The Mini Dump....err...Dome still has carpet, but it's not used for anything. Such a crappy place to watch football. Dome's suck.
