Man what a wet game. Thank GOD for good rain gear. I thought it was a good game as both teams seemed pretty evenly matched. We killed ourselves with way too many penalties on the offensive side of the ball. Our starting QB, Chris Paul-Etienne (CP), goes down early in the first quarter with looked to be a knee injury; I kind of knew what type of a day it would be at that point. But I have to say that his understudy DJ Stefkovich looked pretty good and filled in rather nicely. 17-30-0 214 yards and 1 TD wasn't bad for a guy coming in off the bench. I have no idea what the status of CP is but hopefully he'll be back next week.
We had a bit of a running game with Ferrer gaining 77 yards on 10 carries and Ayo Isijola gaining 71 yards on 11 carries. Receiving, nice job by Ryan Lawrence with 6 catches for 119 yards and a TD.
On defense our LB's Hansen and Damon combined for most of the tackles. Our secondary to their credit had 3 picks.
This one was tough. We outplayed Brown in almost every statistic but what really lost the game for us were the penalties. 17 for 164 yards is terrible, most of those occurred in the first half. I think our O-line needs to play much better. I saw some pretty undisciplined football out there today. I know the rivalry with Brown is a heated one with bad blood on both sides. But losing your cool like I saw today only resulted in more and more penalty yardage. THAT was what made the difference. Brown really took control of the situation in the 3rd quarter. We came back with a TD in the 4th to make it interesting but to no avail.
I'm hoping to see more discipline and a LOT less penalties next week. Also hoping to see CP back next week.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
