pretty good poll this week.
UMass and SDSU are still too low, IMO, but that will correct itself if they win their conference games.

I think if SDSU wins convincingly this week then they should deserve to move up a little, but really they haven't proven anything except that they can beat up weak opponents. I say wait and see how they do against good teams.

Montana getting a first place vote is an absolute joke

They're 4-0... 3 crushing victories and a close win over a good NAU. They also went to the NC game last year, polls are usually friendly to those who performed well the previous year, even better to those who continue to perform well. It's not surprising they got one vote, probably a homer pick, but I'm not surprised.

Wah, wah. That is all you do is cry over the Montana placement. Find something else to whine about.

You must still be smarting over that 47-17 drubbing that Santos and the boys took from Montana in the playoffs.

Right now? No, I don't think we should. If/when we go 11-0, yes.

But I understand your point (I think

)...

I'm beginning to get a little miffed with the UCA homers in these polls. Sure they played Hawaii close (a not so good FBS, 6 in O for now but 82 in D, come on) and beat FBS WKU (ranked 115 in O, 118 in D) and just beat an NAIA. Left on their schedule is a DII, a bad transitional UND, and the SLC. They didn't really make their 12 game schedule believable to get 7 DI wins so, seriously, do they deserve where they are being placed? just sayin'

I voted UCA 10th. & I'm hardly a UCA homer. They look to be a very good team. They nearly beat Hawai'i (an average FBS team)
on the islands, a place where even good FBS teams go to die. They also didn't just beat WKU, they suffocated them mercilessly. The DII win (Glenville St. is DII, not NAIA) was a little lackluster, but Southland teams always seem to play poorly against DIIs so I'm not sure how much we should read into that.

They used to go there to die. Hawaii is not that good of a team this year. WKU is at the bottom of the barrel for FBS, I'm not impressed. Not to worry, except for TCU our OOC schedule is nothing to write home about either. That said, we lost to #15, they beat 118 and lost to # (where is Hawaii ranked? I couldn't find it (honestly))
(sorry, got Glenville confused with another team's opponent)
additionally, If we are getting ranked lower because we lost to a (highly ranked) FBS team, than teams with worse records (regardless of past history, because it is past history) should be ranked accordingly.
This is why I fucking hate polls

PS - Get SFA out of there. They haven't beaten anyone significant either. I agree with the rest of you. These polls shouldn't start until OOC is over with. And maybe it would be nice if we just used the Conference games as a gauge and chucked the OOC.

3 crushing victories?
Try again buddy... U crushed a Div II? Western State, wow big accomplishment there. You crushed Portland State... again wow...
As for that other crushing victory? 17-10 against UC Davis... hardly a crushing victory there

No, they have a loss, an FBS loss, but a loss is a loss is a loss.

UCA made my ballot as well, as did McNeese.
Until someone in the conference beats them, these two are clearly the class of the Southland.
The McNeese-UCA matchup should be a barn burner!

to a team that just took down Penn State IN State College... and on two blocked field goals as time was expiring... I've got UNI as my #1 right now... followed very closely by several others...
