South Carolina St- (3-0, 1-0) It’s hard to get a grasp on the top teams in the MEAC. No signature wins, and not that impressive to me in the games that I have watched. The Bulldogs head to South Carolina next week. A good performance in that game would turn my head.

Wins: Grambling State, @ Bethune-Cookman 24-3 , Winston-Salem 27-10

Florida A&M- (4-0, 2-0) I watched FAMU take on Tennessee State today and wasn’t that impressed. They looked much better in the 2nd half, but against what quality of team were they playing. I think the MEAC champ will be the only representative in the playoffs. Lack of quality OOC games will bite them.

Wins: Delaware State 21-12, @ Winston-Salem 34-10 , Howard 48-10 , Tennessee State 31-12

SC State and FAMU are the best teams in the conference. They will play each other in Orangeburg, SC on Oct 17.

If both teams finish 1 and 2 in the conference with no more than 1 lose, I think they both get in. Don't count the University of SC and the University of Miami games.

Actually probably to Dayton to play in the Gridiron Classic, but yeah, I'd rather be home watching the playoffs.

The even bigger question is: who cares where Albany goes?

I didn't realize we were only allowed to talk about teams that we have some affiliation with.

BTW, I've watched more MEAC games this year than NEC games, so I feel more comfortable talking about the MEAC than the NEC.

Forget all that though, it's not about hating. Its about FACTS. Neither FAMU nor SCSU will likely have an OOC win worthy of an at-large when you compare them to the strength of the CAA. Sorry man, that's just the way it is. The fact that I am an Albany fan doesn't change that.

was not terribly impressed with FAMU against TSU on saturday... they looked flat until the second half where i suspect their sheer physicality propelled them past a tiger team that looked gassed...

They've had some odd games this year - up and down, up and down. They played like crap against WSSU but they looked really good against Howard.

I watch FCS football, which the MEAC is a part of. Will the loser of the FAMU/SCSU game have a quality win?

I have said and do believe that the MEAC sucks. That doesn't mean I don't believe the top team or 2 can't compete. SCSU showed us that last year. But the fact is, the MEAC does not win any meaningful OOC game, and hasn't won in the playoffs in how long?

These are two tough teams.

We will see the playoff draw in Nov. and see which teams get shafted. Which teams should get at-large bids.
