Kickoff scheduled for 1 pm PDT in Portland. Weather should be partly sunny with temps in the 70's. Weber State comes off last year's season in which they not only went to the playoffs, but won their first round game. Higgins (QB) and Smith (RB) both are the main returning pieces from last year. The Wildcats got their first victory of the year against Idaho State last week, but have played two Mountain West teams, Wyoming and Colorado State pretty tough the first two weeks. The Vikings come in also at 1-2, after losing to Montana last week. The other loss was to Pac-10 Oregon State, with the win coming against NAIA Southern Oregon. Drew Hubel will start for the Vikings, and both Higgins and Hubel put on quite a show the last time these teams met in Portland. Remains to be seen what these teams can do this time. PSU does hold a slight edge over WSU in games played in Portland (8-6) but has not beaten the Wildcats since 2006.

That's what I love about Channelsurfing as well. I'm watching Elon/GSU and UNI/MSU on a couple of different tabs.

Portland State 10

It's been a back and forth game with both teams scoring in the last few minutes of the 1/2. Portland State looking good but they miss a FG in the last minute of the half. Weber has the ball with under a minute left in the 1/2.

Weber State scored a touchdown with 17 seconds left to win the game.

Weber squeaked out a lucky win, great game by PSU. Actually, great game period!!

All in all, very good game. Maybe a different outcome if we did not take the third quarter off. Still, great to see our young guys hang in there and get a chance for a win against Weber State. We had our chances, we just did not make the most of them until the fourth. Thing of beauty watching Hubel on the scoring drive, looked very poised. Also, Higgins drive to respond was equally as entertaining. We gave WSU all they could handle, we just could not finish.

Major injury note: WSU's Wilcox got severely rolled on in the third quarter and could not put any weight on his leg. It was mentioned on AGS that initial reports are a broken leg.
