Man, this video is fantastic. Our local news station took 8 different cameras to the first game and covered the opening game from all angles. This is the finished product, and I have to say, it is pretty fantastic.

I know some of the posters here are probably a little sick of all the ODU love going on and that is somewhat justifiable, but this video really helps to capture why everyone is so fired up about having football back again, because we really do have some great fans who have been craving what you guys have had for years.

This video captured only a small part of what football means to a school that didn't have a team. Along with the cheers, there were tears of joy. Many of you have had teams for as long as you know. All I can say is don't take it for granted. Schools like Iona dropped their programs recently. I guess the fans took it for granted and the money dried up. Think about what football means to you and offer something beyond the cost of a ticket.
We have 28 national championship banners flying over our campus at Old Dominion. And our men's basketball team has beaten 4 teams when they were ranked in the top 10 (#1, #3, #8, #9). And while we cherish all that, seeing the football team take the field for the first time meant so much.

Nah, you guys annoy me because you're ODU. But I have to admit, your fanbase has come across as grounded, realistic, and hopeful. You guys are just excited to have football again and I can live with that.

And honestly, if it wasn't for the dumbass Georgia State fans running their mouths off every chance possible, I would have a lot less patience for the Monarchs.

Hopefully we can get competitive in a few years so I can begin hating JMU again. I haven't had real hate for JMU since the mid-90's when you had a good basketball team. Looks like that is finally turning around to where we could have a year-round hatefest soon. It's a shame to waste a chance of hating purple.

I was thinking more of Johnny Unitas Stadium during a Towson game. You'd have all the privacy you need.
