The Citadel at 7th. We have a lot more Football to play to be even considered that high in the rankings. In fact, I don't think we will know what our season is going to be until week 5 against App St.

JMU at 27th (of FCS teams) suprises me, I'd expect them to be higher. I guess they get no credit for playing Maryland because Maryland sucks so far his year.

Is this the consolidated rankings that show up on CSN? I don't remember El Cid being ranked and I only remember FU being ranked on AGS.

Yeah, and I don't think a win against Princeton really get us ranked nor would a win this weekend against PC.

I assume that this consolidation includes the power rankings. Depending on which rankings are included a 7 in Sagarin would move you up the list. One of the reasons the loved or hated GPI doesn't come out until week 4 or 5 is because the power rankings are pretty useless the first few weeks.

these are the consolidated ranking. It does all the major polls as well as the other rankings such as Sag.
edit: Since last night The Citadel has now dropped down to #27

If I am reading this correctly, looks like all are power rankings, is that correct?

correct, but it also has the major media/coaches polls as well. As they update it gets added to the list. Usually you do not have all of them until Wednesday or Thursday.

I would prefer to remain unranked until the App State game. Top 25 rankings tend to be a kiss of death for us.

Quite agree. However, if we happen to get a big win over App St., can an win over a 0-4 or 1-3 App. St. help with any rankings.

after reading this I wanted to look over the schedule. Is a 5-6 or 6-5 record that impossible?

For App St.? Maybe 6-5 but not likely. I see them bouncing back strong.
For The Citadel? Yup definately. I think we will take out PC, but in the SoCon, 4-4 would be very possible. Our D seems to be ready for a great year, but I am still waiting to see something offensively.

I meant App State and looking at the schedule I see Samford, Elon, Furman, Wofford, and Citadel all being tough games. Also, 4 out of those 5 are on the road.

Definately something to think. If this is the case, it would certainly make for an interesting year in the SoCon.
