How has your team played this season? It could be interesting to see what peoples perspectives are now and then do this again later in the season.

Youngstown State
B-
We are 2-1.
We are playing pretty well offensively.
We are playing decent defensively.
Special Teams could use some work.
Ask me after week 6 how we are. If YSU wants to make the playoffs, we must be 6-1 heading into Iowa.

A- after yesterday, probably would have been a C+ before that.

A.
Thought about an A- after yesterday, but we rcalled plays like we just wanted the clock to run so the game was over

C thusfar... Defense still seems nonexistent - shootout loss to SHSU-Huntsville and a disappointing first half against Wagner... up from a D for the offense and for the adjustments... but at this point, i'm dreading the conference sked...

I would have to say a
B-, we showed we could compete with and should belong the Big Sky yesterday by coming back and almost beating NAU one of the better teams of the conference, even though mistakes (and a bad call) at the end of the game ruined our chances. But our defense really needs to get better quickly in order for that to happen. Looking forward to the rest of the season a shot at a GWC championship

I think the word is out. Do NOT attempt to run against the Griz. PSU, 23 attempts for 47 yards, a 2.0 average. UCDavis had 43 rushing yards in 23 attempts for a 1.9 ypc average. The last two games we've had 67 and 52 pass attempts against....with moderate success...If the Griz can tighten up the pass defense they could be trouble.

I'll give the Hens a C+
2-1 record, which is what I expected it would be after the 3 games they have played. But they played Richmond tough and had a chance to win that game. Almost doesn't count, but they played better than I thought they would so I give them a C+.

Would be an A- if our line gave Nichols some protection and held their blocks long enough for Jones to get a little space to bust it.

To early to tell for the Griz, but considering our perfmance against PSU, I would say A-. I loved to see the team come back from a 14 point defecit, but we need to limit mental mistakes (penalties). Balanced offense was nice to see, as have a stable or running backs and wide receivers, but I would like to see better pass coverage on defense (fewer yards given up).

I guess it is a little to early to tell with UNI. Iowa was a great showing, but USD was a passing practice and yesterday was a running practice. We looked good with both, but hard to tell what gameplan we are actually going with

At least UNI has decided on a starting QB. So far, both QBs have looked good and bad in split time, with Roper going 2/3 with a TD before getting knocked out of the game. Selle looked excellent in the remainder of yesterday's contest, but I would hate to see Roper lose the job due to injury.

Harvard offense: C+ (disorganized ist half; better 2d half)
Harvard defense: B-
Harvard special teams: D (missed PAT and short punts and kickoffs)
Only 1 turnover, though...but it came late, unfortunately.

B (close to a B+)
New QB is adjusting to the system nicely...Tony Nelson is running up a storm again...the receivers need to hold on to more balls...the O-Line is new and learning, and making fewer mistakes than last year...
On "D"...they played up to K-State, shutting them out in the second half...really beat Albany last week...but this past weekend, they kinda let up in the second half against URI....they need to keep the intensity up all 60 minutes...

Hofstra - Offense F
Defense C (c'mon, they were playing against Richmond and the Hofstra offense saturday, 22 on 11)

So what's your grade, Z? Is the season still lost?

I'll say B+, 2 great games vs Mtn West opponents, would be an A if Weber would have come out of FT. Collins with a win. Weber beat ISU for the 23rd time in the last 25 games with a 44-17 win, played really well on offense and defense, especially from the 2nd qrt on, but I know this Wildcat football team is better than what they showed last night.

ODU: A+
They have HEART, and that's enough for a first year team to get an A+ in my book.

A- for SIU. We really should have won that game at Marshall.

North Carolina A&T
C-
The offense can't drive the ball. The defense is pretty good but cannot play all day. The special teams are horrible.
Change the grade. D+

Offense:
B+ - Even though the Apps are off to an 0-2 start the offense has been sharp for a game and a half. Having Edwards back (after not taking a snap since November of 08) will mean things can only get better.
Defense:
C- - The D provided a glimpse of what they can do in the second half of the East Carolina game. It was a huge shock to see how flat they came out for McNeese State. The talent is there. There's no doubt the potential to shut down opposing teams is there as well. I hope to see it this weekend against Samford.
Special Teams:
C- Other than a missed FG (and perhaps an extra point) I have't seen anything that can't be fixed with practice. Lots of practice.
Overall:
B- - Shaky start to the season but I believe the wishful thinking regarding ASU's demise to be slightly exaggerated.
