And when did the Blue Hoes join the SoCon? I know they are in the Big South, but everyone of their OOC games seem to be against one of our teams.

CM I think you did your research on this one.

Our defense appears to be the real deal this year. In fact, PU's one TD was kind of fluky and the score could just as easily have been 38-0 this weekend. I think PC is going to come into this game thinking that of all their OOC SoCon games, the one with us is their best chance to get a win. I that respect, I am glad that Coach Higgins has been playing so conservatively. However, if we play vanilla against PC they might hang 14 on us. Either way, Coach Moore isn't going to have a whole lot of film to work with next week. Maybe it won't matter, but I like Higgins' strategy.

Here's another thing- we have a couple of receivers to augment Andre Roberts. We hardly used Andre at all yesterday and still scored 38 (a lot of those points can be attributed to the play of our defense). I think once we really bring Andre into the mix in the next couple weeks we will know for sure what we have. So far, it looks like we have this year what we THOUGHT we were going to have last year.

Samford could pull the upset, and at this point, I'm not so sure I'd call it an upset.

The rest of the games are pretty predictable. Of course, anything can happen, but unless our 2 deep on each position contracts H1N1 in the next six days, we should be able to handle the Cats. FU 44 WCU 21.

From what I've read of WCU, your two deep could sit out and the cats would still have trouble scoring 21.

It's sad (for App fans) but, after witnessing their defensive display two weeks ago, apparantly all Samford will have to do is stop Armanti on one drive to secure a victory....hope Wiley's boys prove me wrong....

Speaking of good defenses, I think Western's offense is a good bit better than the stats showed, no matter what Catamount Man says. I honestly think we may have the best set of linebackers in the entire FCS and one of the best secondaries. Don't be fooled by what happened at South Dakota State. We turned the ball over 4 times and gave up a few big plays on special teams. SDSU is going to score a ton of points this season, anyways.

Did you go to the same game I went to?

SDSU is the real deal and will score a ton of points, but WCU is weak. This may be the weakest team they have put on the field in 3 or 4 years. Best set of linebackers in the FCS??? I don't think so.
