GSU opens conference play today against WCU at Paulson Stadium. This could be a battle of the cellar dwellers or it could be the game that identifies either team. I will be at the game so I won't be able to comment.

This will be interesting - how do each team respond after last week's losses (in GSU's case, ass-whooping by a bunch of bunnies)

Greetings from the boro! On my way to the tailgate. The fact that last weeks game was the worst regular season loss in history was not lost in practice this week.

Based on the two teams' performances last week this might be a case of who "out sorrys" the other...

27-3 GSU. Another great day of Catamount lore. You get used to it after a while. Even Dennis Wagner sucks!

GSU just might make a season out of this. It's not like we started strong in 2007 and 2008.

certainly GSU will improve simply becasue they are so young and the youth will gain experience and grow together... the question is how many wins does that translate to in 2009?

Big game for GSU and Elon next saturday... the last two meetings have been barnburners, I would expect the same come next Saturday.

I saw that WCU had 12 rushing attempts for -12 yards and it looked like their defense just couldn't get off the field. Did GSU exploit the catamount weaknesses or were the cats really just that bad?

Hatcher said he was going to run the ball more and he did. Reeling off runs of 5-9 yards over and over again. In the end I think Western is just that bad. According to CM, Wagner is running players off that he doesn't want around without regard for how it affects the team. What could one expect?
