Wisconsin but the little dogs give 'em a fight.
Missouri, I think bend don't break defense breaks this weekend.
The Citadel but by a hell of a lot less than whatever citdog thinks :D
Samford
Wake Forest
GSU by 10. I felt sorry for both WCU and GSU last week.

 like I ever feel sorry for GSU

Those numbers look pretty good.

However, I don't think we hang more than 35 on Princeton and I don't think Elon hangs 28 on Wake Forest.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. After we beat GSU in 2005, did they not fire their coach? Seems to me their downward spiral started about then

I'm fairly confident that this week won't be a trap week in Boone. Of course, I said that last week and our defense decided to make a liar out of me. Maybe they thought last week was the bye?

I am rooting for them :thumb: Also know they could do it. I also know how tough it is even in years where you outplay an FBS/BCS for most of the game. nothing would please me more than the Terriers to bring home a badger pelt this weekend. Well, except for Furman dragging home Tiger skin but I just don't see that.

Regardless, App's defense gives up +400 yds to bye's offense.... :coffee:

That would be correct... the AD decided to throw out the coach and the offensive system that was the centerpiece of the six national titles and two runner ups over the previous 20 years. The program then went on to win 3, 7 (a missed 31 yd FG from winning the conference), and 6 (with 3 conference losses by 4 points) and now stands 1-1 after suffering the worst loss to a 1-AA/FCS team in 14 years.

The only good thing going is that GSU has 83- not a typo- FR & SO on the roster and 31 players on the two deep are either Fr or SO, of which 14 of those are FR. Six OL and a highly touted QB (Brent Osborn from Alabama) are redshirting this season as well.

GSU is full rebuilding mode currently so everybody needs to get their licks in now because by 2011 they will be back. This is similar to when the program was first restarted back in 1982. GSU was really young the first three years but history has documented what happened from 1985-1990 when the players matured and they had normal recruiting classes.

Back when we were playing musical coaches after Charlie Taaffe we made similar predictions.

Wofford @ Wisconsin: Im going to say that since the Big Ten is overrated and that the Badgers had serious issues stopping the triple option against Cal Poly this year i will say the Terriers win when their kicker actually makes the kicks that are needed. :thumb:

Chattanooga @ Presbyterian: The Blue Hose have been struggling on defense and i think those woes will continue against Chatty.

Furman @ Missouri: The Paladins are playing well but have to go into Missouri, i think it will be a close first half with Missouri pulling away in the second.

The Citadel @ Princeton: The Citadel will finally get some touchdowns in this game as they win in a decent game against Princeton.

Miles @ Samford: Samford takes this game blowing out their D2 opponent, over by halftime.

Elon @ Wake Forest: The Demon Deacons rebounded with a tough loss to Baylor by beating the Standford Cardinal on a last second TD, i see another close game but im giving Elon the nod for another ACC team being upset as their offense and defense is rolling.

Western Carolina @ Georgia Southern: Last week Georgia Southern got blown out and Western Carolina allowed Gardner Webb to comeback and win. I see the Eagle's rebounding better then the Cats.

I don't mean this as smack, but GSU fans have been saying "wait until (insert year here)" for the past 2 or 3 seasons. It's the same argument every time, that you have 25 awesome underclassmen waiting in the wings who are going to kick everyone's ass when they mature. Then they either leave or get kicked of the team or never live up to their eagle-potential. I'm not saying it isn't going to happen, but I've heard it so often now that I just really don't believe it. You can save this post for crow-eating in a few years, I'll own up to it.

But GSU will beat Western by at least 2 TDs. That's a bad, bad football team, even for WCU-standards.

Hatcher has had only two "real" recruiting classes, 2008 & 2009, as he was hired 12 days before signing day in 2007 which made anything he got that was good in 2007 gravy. I won't even begin to address the cluster---- that Van Gorder was in recruiting and bringing in transfers in 2006.

If you look at the offense none of the skill players had more than 1 start prior to opening day, 7 kids made their first college start while 5 of those played their first college game two weeks ago. Every one of those kids are FR or SO. Stop and think about it... five offensive starters played their first college game two weeks ago.

I highly doubt all 83 of those younguns will drop out or fall short for whatever reason, but I'm willing to bet the 32 freshmen who received playing time last year and about that many more this year- that lost 3 games to the top 3 conference finishers by 4 points combined- will be a lot better when they are juniors and seniors than they are currently. Four or five years in a program that is stable- which GSU certainly wasn't from 2005 to last year- will do wonders for kids. They'll be fine given some time, which given GSU's fanbase certainly isn't a given.
