App St shouldn't be in the Top10 until they win a game...and certainly not in front of an undefeated McNeese St......

Montana State shouldn't even be receiving votes. Dixie State by 3? Come on.

McNeese should be above App but what do you mean by much higher, much lower? McNeese won on a last second field goal between very comparable teams which in my mind would mean they are fairly equal at this point so McNees one spot above them would make sense.

In my eyes, people are placing too big an emphasis on how good Appy State has been over the years vs their 0-2 start this season. No 0-2 should he near the Top 10.

Bullshit. They were as good as McNeese but didn't have the ball last and therefore slightly less than McNeese. They lost to an FBS so that never drops a team a whole lot especially when they gave that FBS team all they could handle. McNeese and App have similar talent and played a very close game so they should be ranked around the 10 mark...at this point. McNeese just barely skimmed by a D2 at home for one of the two wins.

The fact is this: a win is a win and a loss is a loss. McNeese fought and won both games, while despite being close, Appy lost both games.

I know Appy is good, but come on now, reward the winners, not the losers.

Do you really think Ohio State would be #11 right now if they had lost to Navy and USC?

I pay zero attention to FBS so I couldn't tell ya. There are differing philosophies on how teams should be ranked and from what I watched the other night App is good as McNeese when they had a very bad night on defense. They should be below McNeese but only by one or two spots.

If the philosophy is to drop out for the losses no matter what then can't we find 25 teams that are 2-0 at this point? Why isn't ODU being talked about as a top ten team with your criteria?

That poll should be pulled.. it is a joke. Here is The Sports Network Pollhttp://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnf ... A-POLL.htm. Biggest surprise for me is how Richmond stays at #1 with that crappy game against un-ranked Delaware. And yet Weber falls two spots after losing by one point in the last 40 sec to CState and by 7 to the Wyoming.

I dont understand why Weber is getting punished so much for losing 2 games to Mountain West Foes by a combined 8 points?

One could ask, why was Weber as high as it was in the polls before playing a game???

Was it expectations? Was it based on last year, or reality???

Well, if it was expectations, you have failed to meet expectations...your team lost two games...so you drop...

If it was because of what you did last year...well, you're two games into the season...and you don't have a win yet...you drop...

Because you could not be as high as you were because of reality...otherwise, you would not have lost both games...

Besides...dropping after loses is not PUNISHMENT...it's adjusting reality... :coffee:

BULLSHIT FCS teams don't fall after losing to FBS teams. In the past UNI has fallen 7-10 spots after losing to an FBS school

COMPLETELY disagree, Colonel. Nobody (outside of Weber fans) put them that high expecting them to beat a MWC foe. It's the OTHER 9 games that are key.

Well, since I don't vote, answer me this...

Why were they put that high in the polls??? Someone had expectations, obviously...

And why did they drop in the polls...if we NEVER drop a team for losing to a IA team...

Do you believe they were being PUNISHED??? If that's the case, then anyone who voted them down should forever be banned from voting in any poll of a football nature, because you don't PUNISH a team for losing...

Dropping in a poll is exactly what I said it is...adjusting reality...A bunch of someones had some pretty high expectations for Weber...and those expectations were not met with the two losses...maybe the Weber folks helped raise those expectations with their enthusiasm over the summer....I hope that isn't the case, but something got voters to vote them high....then drop them...

If I'm that wrong....educate me...I'm listening...
