Western Illinois RB Herb Dionalsdson:
"It ain't fun," said Donaldson, who leads the Gateway with 1,113 rushing yards and was averaging 147.6 per game. "They're the No. 1 team, and they showed it. We didn't play like the No. 17 team."
Western has now lost to both No. 1 UNI and No. 2 North Dakota State, which defeated Minnesota Saturday. He was asked to compare the teams.
"Really, they did very little wrong tonight," he said of the Panthers. "If they play like that, they're going to be very difficult to beat.
"I would have to vote for UNI based on tonight. North Dakota State has a wonderful football team, just ask the Gophers, but I would still give UNI the edge when you compare the two teams."
Also, the
Star-Tribune kept saying in their postgame shaming of the Gophers that North Dakota State was #1 in FCS. What poll were they looking at?
E-mailed the three authors to set them straight.

Not that polls mean a thing, but it's really all NDSU has to go on considering they aren't eligible for the playoffs till next year.
Next year you get to prove yourself in the bloodbath known as the Gateway. Be careful what you wish for.

No, it was quite necessary. Only one poll has them #1. Too bad for them.
