CAAZone still down

Been down since last Sat I think. I doubt there's too many CAA fans that are on that board and on here too. There was actually a pretty good discussion about it being down over on AGS, and then poof! it disappeared

I guess some azzhole mod over AGS got his panties in a bunch for some unknown reason.

One of the things pointed out was that only about 4 of the 12 all sport CAA schools don't have their own message board (7 of the 12 CAA in all sport schools have football + there is a 1/2 doz football only members (UR, Nova, UNH, UMass, Maine, URI). JMU is one of those without their own message board, and I would bet the only perennial top 10 power without their board. Yes there is the JMU forum page on the CAAZone, but that isn't JMU's own board, as the CAAZone is controlled and run by George Mason grads from what I've been told. The forums for some of the schools on their aren't active at all, as they have their own boards, and for the ones that are, its mostly basketball. JMU's is probably the only school on the CAAZone where if you totaled up the threads for an entire year, football outnumbers basketball.

And if the CAAZone needed to be taken down for maintenance and upgrade, then why couldn't it have been done April-July outside of basketball and football season? To be down a week right in the middle of summer camp is ridiculous. Its because the people who run it are basketball people and probably don't care much about footbll, as their alma mater doesn't even have a team. This s**t seems to happen every Aug, but at least before it was never this long.

That suck BDK, do you think they may have been attacked. That seems to happen to a lot of fan boards about this time of year every year.

I'm not a reader of the Zone or anything but I like the idea of having a common web address for conference mates to gather. Hope it's back up soon for you guys.
Wish there was a SoCon specific board but it'll never happen as the only fanbases with any sizeable online presence are GSU and ASU.

Well, in that case it may as well have been deleted. Not much difference. Same goes for the Sports Network CAA Preview article thread. That thread was going good till it got moved to the FCS News Feeds section, where it will die a quick death (Course, maybe that's appropriate for a Coulson article).

I'd have to go with the Mason conspiracy theory aspect for shutting down the boards... I don't get over there that often as I'm not a big fan of the site, but it's mainly a basketball site in my books and since JMU plays ball like girls, I don't talk. Too many JMU posters over there are living in the "glory days" thinking JMU basketball is a hot story... this isn't the 80's and I've played ball against (and beat) the JMU team when I was there earlier this decade. They aren't good... I've seen pictures of the one fan, who happens to be the biggest JMU basketball homer and post on CAAzone, standing alone in the stands. It's like the two fans sitting in the outfield in the movie "Major League."

As far as the JMU forum on the CAA Zone I'd say if you totaled up all the threads, they'd be 50% football, maybe 30% basketball, and 20% other.
Actually JMU's glory days not only were the 80s but through the mid 90s also when Lefty was there. True the BB team has SUCKED for most of this past decade. I don't follow the team much but I looked up their record the past 7 seasons:
02': 14-15
03': 13-17
04': 7-21
05': 6-22 (Dillard fired)
06' 5-23
07': 7-23
08': 13-17 (Keener fired)
09': 21-15 (9-9 CAA) in Brady's 1st season playing 3 freshman. 2 of them were on the All Rookie team, one of them being CAA Rookie of the year, so maybe the b-ball team won't be a laughing stock at least for the next few years).
Back to the topic at hand- JMU needs its own message board controlled by JMU grads.

No doubt, I remember when Dean Keener came in and was supposed to turn the team around.

Hopefully they've turned the page. Agree with that last statement... I don't know how much capital it takes to start up and run one of these sites, but I assume its more than my grad school wages.

Yeah, I lurk much more often during basketball season, it was always hard to get into it with the team doing so poorly. I know we had our "glory days" but I was never around for those, but it seems like Brady could be turning it around. And yeah, I hate the way things like the Zone awards are basketball only, and given out to VCU, Mason, and ODU only. So that leads us to....

There was one at one time, before Mason opened up the Zone - DukesDomain.com. I know the URL expired, so it's available for purchase.

Day 6: The site is still down. Starting to get the shakes. How could those George Mason assholes not have it back up by now? Don't they realize that CAA football is God's gift to man, along with Tom Brady? If this goes on much longer, I'll have no choice but to start trolling eGriz, and asking if they even have fucking electricity out in Montana.
End transmission.

We're close. We just need another couple hundred feet of extension cord to get it across the state line and we'll be set. Hoping that's gonna make it through the funds appropriation committee this time.

This has gone on for too long. It doesn't take 7 days to update a forum. I think it is high time we created our own board.
