Thoughts?

At this point it would appear to me to be McNeese/TXST as I have a feeling that UCA is gonna be in trouble replacing the proclivity of Mr. Brown. I could be wrong but that's what it looks like from the uninformed outside anyway. Even when McNeese has a down year they are pretty good and come back strong. I don't know too much about them this year yet due to the lack of McNeese posters but I think TXST is gonna be pretty good again as well so those are my picks. I usually watch the McNeese games every week on replay so it will be interesting to see how they look this year.

It's interesting that over on the Pick The Conference Winner's thread most are taking UCA yet most of you can't pick the biggest game in the SLC. Yet you can place UCA as winning it. That's cause you don't follow us (SLC) at all and haven't a clue to what UCA lost from last year's team.

Catmom, the Southland is always hard to predict and not many posters on this board follow the conference as much as we do. I've seen a couple SHSU posters but not much else.

Its tough for me to pick the game of the year between UCA and McNeese. We still haven't beaten UCA so thats huge in itself. But since McNeese is eligible for the postseason a win over them could be a tie breaker.

Really I could seeing it come down to SHSU. Last year that game decided if we made the playoffs or not. It could very well happen again. SHSU and Texas St always play a tough game no matter how one side is playing that year. Two years ago the Bobcats blew a game to them at home and then the Bearkats returned that favor last year. So who knows.

My pick would have to be UCA vs Tx State, because they seem to forget that UCA is the real 2008 Southland Champion.

Welcome BearU. UCA will be an interesting team to follow this year. Its easy to argue that y'all will take a step back without Nathan Brown this year, but the Bears still have key players returning and a chance at a good QB transfer.
