CEDAR CITY, Utah, Aug. 15 – After boasting a prolific passing offense but struggling to run the ball much of last year, Southern Utah’s football staff set a goal to create a running game this fall. If Saturday’s 80-play scrimmage was any indication, that goal is definitely within reach.

Its great to see that we are no longer going to be one dimensional like we were back in 08. The excitement coming out of Cedar City is more then we ever had before and im keeping my hopes high for 2009, also glad that the people who run the SUU website are actually keeping up on the happenings this year for the football team as well, here come the Thunderbirds!

Cool Tbird, a good run game will help you win more games than about anything else.

Sigh once again im not making SUU out to be suddenly the best team out there, dont misunderstand me as you apparently have , im simply stating that we are finally going to be good at both running the ball instead of throwing it a hundred times a game.

And speaking of our stadium we are finally supposed to be seeing some improvements soon, a turf field and a new scoreboard with a video screen highlight the additions that are supposedly going to be added.

I just find it amusing that you post all these articles and talk about them the way that most fans would on their board, not an all-FCS board. Doesn't mean you can't, I just find it amusing.

Not with you on this one Rob. I wish more of us did this for our friends on the national board to get the FCS talk up to the standards that we all were accustomed to on AGS. Then guys like us can heckle a little instead of having the circle jerk that goes on at the team boards.

I applaud every team with the temerity to take the field and play ythe game, regardless of the opponent.

I applaud every fan who sticks with his or her team through thick and thin.

It'll get worse if SUU doesn't perform.
