Should be a great matchup, but I think SIU takes it.

1. Because they are overdue to finally win a game @ Northern Iowa. It hasn't happened since 1983. It's time to end the jinx.
2. Because it is Southern Illinois' year.
3. Because the Salukis have their most balanced offense in years.
4. Because the Saluki defense has finally learned how to force turnovers.
5. Because the Salukis want the conference title back. This is a big swing game in deciding that.
6. Because Jerry Kill is a brilliant coach who has been pulling redshirts to add depth. When WR Alan Turner injured his ankle Saturday, a former redshirt freshman named Evans stepped in and caught 6 passes for 93 yards.
7. Because the Salukis want to shut up the Cap'n who picked YSU by 30 last weekend.
8. Because I want them to.

1983????

Wow.
1983 was a good year for us. We beat UNI on the road and won a National Championship.

It's official: This game is sold out!!!!!!!!!!!

"Saturday's game against Southern Illinois is a sellout - the first since Nov. 11, 1995. A limited number of student tickets are still available and can be picked up at the UNI Ticket Office. When all the student tickets are used up, the UNI Department of Athletics will show the game on the big screen in the McLeod Center and will allow students or the general public view the game."

It should be. Two undefeated Gateway teams meeting in midseason should be entertaining. First place in the Gateway is on the line. What more could you want? The only way to top this would be a rematch in Chattanooga.
