Really glad what i read and what i have been hearing, Ed Lamb is turning SUU around in just his second season (coach of the year canidate in my mind) and great things are expected out of the Thunderbirds this season. Cade Cooper appears to be as good as advertised, Tyson Poots the All American is one of if not the best WR's the nation and we as a team are working harder then we ever have before, this will pay huge dividends when the season starts, here comes SUU!

Like you SUUTbird, I am glad to be reading that the 'Birds are looking good so far in camp. From everything I have heard and read, camp is going really well, and most importantly, the whole team has bought into what Lamb is trying to establish. I have no doubt that we are the hardest working team in the country, and that will add up to more wins. 2009 is going to be a good year to be an SUU fan. Can't wait for 9/3.

I hope you are right that Lamb is turning the program around. But, let's talk coach of the year honors after he has done and not just because the reports are buying into his program.

Every team has a 'good' camp.
How do *you* know that SUU is the hardest working fcs team? Usually the BEST PERFORMING teams work the hardest. My best friend played for Idaho State, & Ive seen what those guys are focused on... and it aint winning 3rd down situations. How do you know SUU fb players arent the same way?
btw SUU hasnt *done* anything for the football team, nothing has changed at all. so how are "things looking up for SUU"? Your just spreading baseless opinions, guy.

Not at all saying that we are the only team looking up, its just we have been down for so long its nice to have a coach come along that actually seems to know what he is doing.

I dont know or say they are the hardest working team in the nation but the fact they are trying to be says alot compared to past seasons where Meir at this point and time would be going in shorts, helmets and taking it easy. Its a big turn around from what we have experienced here, and not all the best performing teams work the hardest, they just have the talent

I hope the Tbirds continue to make improvements and have a good season for the fans and the program. Good luck boys but you do seem to be putting the cart in front of the horse until they get out there and get a couple of wins under their belts.

In many years of follow the teams in Utah, I don't think I have ever heard more optimism coming out of Cedar City at this time of the year. That, in itself, is a good sign. It is better to start the season believing in your program.
That said, SUU still needs to prove it on the field. Please don't be disappointed if the team doesn't live up to the hype. I do think the program is going in the right direction.

2 months ago, one of my friends had a feeling he was going to hit the super lotto plus, so we both bought tickets.....but somehow, even though he had this feeling deep down in his gut... we didnt win anything!
Imagine that.

Thought I won't be able to be there, I do hope that BlackFalkin is able to come to the SUU/EWU game in Cedar this year. If SUU fans are over-optimistic, you are the polar opposite. As it has been said before, SUU fans have not had much to cheer for in recent years. Nobody is denying that. More than optimism, maybe it would be best for us to use the word "excited." Does that bother you? But back to the game, I guarantee you will like what you see on the field when you watch SUU under Lamb. BTW, I GUARANTEE SUU BEATS EWU!!!!!!!!!!!

The odds of SUU having a good season for a change are infinitely higher than winning lotto. Thanks for quoting only my first paragraph acknowledging the optimism and not my second stating that it still had to won on the field.

Everyone should just ignore BF, all he does is spread his hatemongering ideals for fans who are opptimistic about thier teams chances, apparently its against the rules to be excited.

Hope the Tbirds continue to move forward. Just not when Texas State is in town. y'all already made enough progress against us.
