CAA # 1 Conference Again???

The facts are as plain as the nose on your face...can the CAA repeat again???
Most major preseason publications this summer rank Richmond and Villanova in the Top 5, James Madison and New Hampshire in the Top 10, William & Mary in the Top 15 and Massachusetts and Maine in the Top 25.
League teams have gone 59-17 against out-of-conference I-AA opponents, including playoff games, the last two years.
The only other league with much of a claim to being the CAA's equal is the Southern Conference, which has gone 8-5 against the Colonial in head-to-head playoff games since 2000, while winning four titles in that span. Three of those titles - and five of those head-to-head wins - belong to one school: Appalachian State.
The CAA, meanwhile, has had six different teams reach the semifinals since 2000.
Colonial teams have played for the title in five of the last six years - with Delaware winning in 2003, JMU in 2004 and Richmond last year. (The CAA took over the football branch of the Atlantic 10 before the 2007 season.)

So, I say 2009 will see another 5 CAA teams (minimum) in the post-season...with at least one making the finals...
That leaves the other spot for...
Let the CAA envy begin...

No big deal, all their fans have to do is latch onto whatever CAA team makes it the farthest, and try to act like their success somehow makes their team better.

As opposed to Big Sky fans who know the team is Montana every year...

There's something to be said for consistency.

We play 2 FCS, 1 FBS and a DII in a season. What is the CAA breakdown? Just wondering.
I'm not on the bandwagon.... thank you very much
The polls, while having 3 of our 8 teams ranked, well, I'll wait and see how that shakes out.... for us and everyone else.

12 team playoffs.
Texas St. won't be one of them.

When UMassoftwoshits passes the Griz for NC titles and appearances, THEN I'll become envious. Until then....

I thought the CAA was an association not a conference. I'm sure they will be.

Is UMass's AD still the honcho of the selection committee? Seems like the CAA gets their teams spread through the brackets pretty well while other leagues with multiple entries get to play each other to get to the semis.

Its about the same, but few DII teams. Delaware always plays West Chester but that's an in state rivalry. Maine has St. Cloud this year because they got bought out of the game at Florida State. FCS OOC generally tends to be a couple Ivy's, PL, and NEC for the North divison and Big South and MEAC teams for the South, with some Socon and MVFC teams as well. FBS opponents tend to be MAC, Big East and ACC with the occasional misfits falling in there sometimes (Kansas State this year).
All tough schedules though. New Hampshire may have the easiest schedule with St Francis and Dartmouth.

Someone always brings up this red herring...while never questioning their own conference rep on the subject...
Who ever represents the CAA has one vote...
If that person is the head of the selection committee, he/she still only has one vote...
If the SOCON rep...or the Big Sky rep...or the OVC rep...or the reps from any other conference are that weak that they can be forced to vote as the committee head wants...then that is the problem of those conferences...
So, if the CAA, with one vote, got five teams in the playoffs...either the CAA is that good....or your conference rep is that bad....
WHICH IS IT?????

Pick five CAA teams for the playoffs.

So, your conference rep must be pretty dumb to vote for that....
