In your opinion what would constitute a good or bad season for your school?

For UNI anything short of a conference title and legit shot at NC is a bad season in my opinion. If our record is worse than 9-2 this year, maybe 8-3 depends on the injury situation, it is a bad season.

I'm going to say the over/under is 6. 7 wins or more and we have out performed ourselves. 5 wins or less, and we have come up short, and someone's head will be called for on a platter.

Well GSU fans are always calling for heads to roll so that last part is just redundant.

0-11 would be rock bottom. Northwestern? puh-lease. The only team in the CAA South I can even venture a chance against is Delaware. Can't see us beating UNH. The early games against Morgan, Rhody, and Coastal are all beatable with an unknown Ambrose offense busting out of the gate. Someone always over looks us towards the end of the season, we almost punked Nova last year.

4-7? Kill me now.

As long as we continue to improve and get better at the FCS level ill be okay, however i am looking for us to go at least .500 or better this year and i know we will be able to do it this year

8+ wins = good
7 - wins = bad

Playoffs=Good
No Playoffs=Bad

Boy, you guys sure have had a lot of bad seasons as of late.

Any year JMU does not make the playoffs is a bad year.

Losing in the playoffs to a better team or an equal team that gets the bouces is one thing, beating ourselves can turn a good year into a bad year...i.e. gift wrapping a playoff game in Boone and handing the NC trophy to App State ... I may never get over that

For Albany I think anything less than a third straight conference title will be a disappointment. We've gotten spoiled as UAlbany fans, having won the NEC 4 times in the last 7 years.

A good season will be a 9-2 campaign, which would mean at least one win over GSU, UMass and/or Maine.

A great season would be a 10-1 campaign, which would mean two wins over either GUS, UMass or Maine. 10-1 would likely warrant an at-large too.

10-1 and I'd say you SHOULD be in. 9-2 it would depend on the status of the other at learge teams and how one win over of those three finishes.

10-1 with 2 wins over GSU, UMass, or Maine would definetly get an at-large nod.

Good year: A respectable showing against East Carolina, holding serve at The Rock, one road loss, at least a semifinal appearance. Not asking for much.

Bad year: Any of the above not coming to fruition.

You would think 10-1 would be a lock for an at-large, but the problem is this: the NEC champion can qualify for a conditional AQ this year if it wins 8 DI games, has two wins over AQ confereces in OOC games, and is ranked 16 or higher in an average of the TSN, Coaches and Modified GPI (4 computer rankings only).

I can realisticly see a scenario where Albany could be 10-1 with wins over UMass and GSU and not be ranked at an average of 16 or higher. There is a clear thought (whether founded in fact or not) that if a team like GSU or UMass loses to Albany, it must have been because GSU and UMass were horrible on that day or for the entire season - not because Albany is just good. That thought process is likely to keep Albany off of the top 16 in many people's ballots.

If Albany is 10-1 and doesn't come in in the top 16, I can definitely see the committee saying - "You had your chance with the conditional AQ and you didn't meet the qualifications. As such, no at-large for you, we'll give it to CAA #5, etc".

That is my take on FU, with two FBS games better than 7-4 is almost too much to ask.

My prediction for Furman has been 6-5 pointing toward 5-6. With the incoming transfers my prediction is still 6-5 pointing toward 7-4.

Good: Undefeated w/ NC
Bad: Anything Less

It could happen but I think 10-1 as long the loss isn't a blow out or as long as the big conferences don't have too many 8-3 , you're in.

What was Coastal rankeda tthe end of the year in 07 when they made the playoffs as an at large? 10-1 may not get Albany into the top 16, but you'd be damned close. easily in the top 20.

I thought Albany was DII? Aren't they in the same conference with Towson?
