Big South questions

Last night during the GSU/CC game, they had an interview in which a guy (possible the BS commissioner) said that Presbyterian was coming into the Big South next season along with another team. I think the guy said Stony Brook. Did I hear this correctly? Is a school from NY actually joining a conference in the South? Also, does the Big South have any further expansion plans?

Yeah it is Stoney Brook. I think it is a 5 year deal that they signed with the BSC. It's a good move for both because it gets the conf. to the minimum 6 programs 2 years earlier than just adding PC does. Threrefore, the conference becomes eligible to recieve an auto bid

As for expansion....the Big South has been looking to expand and has talked to several different teams but nothing is set as of yet for any new members....I imagine that the vast majority will come after the 8 year ban of Div II moving to Div I is lifted....the BS commish has made it known that he isn't going to go after teams in other conferences.

I thought it was a four year ban on moves.
I haven't been able to confirm, but supposedly David Dean mentioned in a radio interview that VSU would look at moving to FCS and the Big South.
