He's played a majority of the games the past two years, and considering our top receiver only had 300+ yards receiving, was one of the top four wide outs on the team last year.HARRISONBURG - Bosco Williams, a probable starting wide receiver on the James Madison football team, will have a surgical pin inserted in his right foot today and will be out of action for 4-6 weeks.
Although coach Mickey Matthews said recently that the senior from Clifton Forge might miss the first two games of the season, Williams said Monday he expects to be ready to play.
"The only way I'd miss one is if they kept me out for precaution," Williams said. "I plan to be there for the beginning. I don't plan on missing time."
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Williams turned in one of the team's signature plays last season when he was on the receiving end of Rodney Landers' 35-yard deflected Hail Mary touchdown pass to beat Villanova. For the season, Williams caught 16 passes for 229 yards and three scores.
His injury was originally discovered in October, when Williams missed the Dukes' game at Richmond because of turf toe. An X-ray revealed a small fracture in his foot that Williams said did not require medical care.
