OK, assholes, who's gonna get it? Who will D1B pick to win the 2009 FCS National Championship?

App State? Richmond? Montana? Northern Iowa? JMU? New Hampshire? Cal Poly? Elon? ...

Ok, you fellas know how this works. State your case, eloquently and entertainmently, as to why your team should avoid the hex and not be picked by D1B to win the national championship.

I can already smell the resentment. "Who the fuck is D1B and what is this hex shit all about?"

Well fuck you - get on my nerves and I pick your team to win it all!!!!!!!!!

Pick UNI. Then maybe the hex will break.

Pick NDSU - we've got no shot this year anyway... let's get the hex out of the way this season...

but for realies:

I would like to place in nomination for the 2009 D1B Hex of the year: a school that represents so much of what FCS football so beloved by the FBS fans who know only 4 teams in our division... The University of Delaware at Newark.

From their collection of cast-off and rejected quarterbacks picked up and made in to stars like so many polished turds, to their obsessive insistence on playing West Chester every year, even though they stopped fielding a football team in 1989, UD is a shining example of what can be achieved when you violate the spirit, if not the letter of NCAA regs.

But there is so much more to love about the home of the Fightin' Blue Hens... their classic college football stadium for example:



They also deserve to be singled out for praise for their bold initiative to acknowledge the existence of Delaware State in Dover, and their selfless commitment to allowing Del. St. to exist within the confines of the 32 square block neighborhood that is Delaware, in such a small town, the temptation to be petty and vindictive is great... here's to UD for rising above.

In addition, the great University of Delaware clearly deserves this honor, if for no other reason, than it's their last year of eligibility, before their cash-strapped, sand dune, corporate tax haven, is barred from participating in the playoffs when their entire state is converted in to America's East Coast Vice Den.

So let's hear it for Delaware in all it's screen-door manufacturing glory!

UD won't be berred from the playoffs, only from hosting.

Why do you even care about the hex? I didn't think NDSU was playoff eligible.
Oh wait...I forgot, as soon as NDSU became playoff eligible, thet stopped winning. That is one clutch program you guys have there.

I'd pick UNI. If they lose, then it's just another year for them. If they win, then the Hex would forever have a reverse affect on UNI (your own team) and it would be a thing of UNI legend forever.

Heck, nothing else has worked for UNI. Might as well use reverse psychology.
