How can we really know who's gonna be legit in 3 months from now?

Which of these polls can we really take semi serious? Anyone? I'm from Weber...I don't know anything about the polls since my team hasn't been in them since the 90's prior to 2008.

Is Harvard really gonna be good? What about Portland State, anyone think so?

Those are the vary reason many of us don't like preseason polls - a lot of guesswork involved.

I've never said that. I had Harvard in my top 25 almost all year last year. Right around where they are in this poll. I think the best team in the Ivy is a top 25 team, just like the best team in the PL or the NEC. Consistency my friend. Consistency. That's all I ask for.

And to be honest I think I have the wrong Ivy in my preseason poll. Looking back I'd probably put Penn in at 24.

But my poll sucks anyway because I have UCA too high and don't have McNeese in at all..... :|

Totally missed that. Must suck to be #4 but be ranked lower than #5.

Well, Northern Iowa is really good as well Appy St and Nova, but UNI is as good as Appy and better than Nova, but Nova is closer to the rankings committee geographically so that is how they ended up listed the way they were. The NCAA factors in these things when they make the 16 team playoff in December. Plus we really wanted Harvard in the top "25".

LOL, I didn't mean for the 2 #4's but...

1. Weber State
2. Richmond
3. Montana
4. Appalachian State
5. Villanova
4. Northern Iowa
6. New Hampshire
7. James Madison

25. Harvard

If Portland State got a good defense, they would be dangerous.

PSU's an enigma. Fans here this week are talking about Glanville taking over and putting in 2 TEs...but we don't have any TEs! Sure, we'll run more. But we have around 8 WRs, and half of them are pretty good. A modified run and shoot maybe, but I don't see us able to give it up. Keep in mind that Hubel (QB) led the nation in passing yardage last year. We lost a bundle, but that was mostly a weak defense and an OL that gave up too many sacks. Adding to the uncertainty, Mouse Davis, the offensive coordinator, resigned last week ( he's 76 and remarried last year - more power to him). Who Glanville choses to replace him will say something about next year. An enigma for sure. We'll be either very very good or very very bad.
