Pretty good poll, IMO. McNeese is too high at 13 and W&M is too low at 20.

Too much CAA in the Top 10. :D

Also, I'm a bit shocked at how App has leapfrogged Richmond in 2 out of 3 polls. Granted this one was VERY close though. It more of reputation and name recognition that anything. Richmond should be number one though.

Why? App St. has a lot coming back in the way of starters. Richmond loses a couple key guys. I understand that Richmond was the Champion last year but this is not a last year poll, it is a preseason poll for this year.

I'm of the "To be the man, you must beat the man" attitude. Richmond beat THE man last year and then became the man. They're now on the pedestal. It gives us something new to accomplish.

I understand that, but it doesn't make any sense. It really doesn't. It is like comparing the Florida Marlins the years they won the WS and the very next year. They had a fire sale each year right after they won the WS and were a completely different team the next year. Just because they won, didn't make them the favorites the next year, or all that special.

But still, until the Marlins were eliminated from World Series contention the next year, they were The Man.

Not to mention Richmond is going to be really good this year as well. They lost a couple key guys and we lost a key guy. They beat us 33-13 last year. At best that puts us this year so far even with them and in case of a tie, championship advantage. So Richmond should be #1 (with App #2).
