Toughest 2008 Sked/2009 Opponents Record

Post by Col Hogan »

According to the NCAA, the schools with the toughest schedules in 2008 were:

1 - JMU
2 - Richmond
3 - Delaware
4 - Villanova
5 - Massachusetts
6 - Appalachian State
7 - Weber State
8 - Chattanoga
9 - Dartmouth
10 - Lehigh

Complete list (in .pdf format) can be found at

http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/2008/Internet/ ... s_cumm.pdf

Not bad...top five teams are CAA (our cupcakes can beat your cupcakes)

So, what's the previous seasons record for this years schedule????

For UMass it looks like this...

Opponents were 75-64 .539 last year.

Kansas State 5-7
JMU 12-2
Albany 9-3
Richmond 13-3
UNH 10-3
Maine 8-5
Stony Brook 5-6
Delaware 4-8
Hofstra 4-8
Rhode Island 3-9
Northeastern 2-10

NAU was pretty low - 96th, due to Idaho State, UNC and SUU.

Is this list calculated by using the 2008 records of our 2009 opponents?

And this makes no sense. Montana should have the easiest schedule in the BSC, since they don't play Montana, and OOC is 3 cupcakes.

Of course. The CAA and SoCon play a tougher brand of football. ;)

Congratulations to Montana on your guaranteed 12th in a row Big Sky championship. :D

I'm sorry, WHERE exactly was the SoCon representation in the NC game this year?   Oh, that's right. You lost to the SAME team we lost to. Get over yourself, the magic is GONE.

Yep. Them and WCUPA look to be the only cruise-control games on the sched. Some would mention Towson or Hofstra, but they always play us tough, so I do not take them lightly.

I think UD added DSU to replace Furman on the schedule.

The fact that they "play you tough" doesn't mean they're not cruise-control games. Much like most of Montana's schedule. ;) ;)

Yeah, sure. That's exactly what I meant.

Actually, I'm talking about everybody padding their records against the likes of Rhode Island, Towson, Northeastern, and the entire MEAC, Big South, Pioneer and Patriot Leagues....

The entire BSC could win every OOC, including all FBS, games in the same season, beat each up in conference play and get 2 teams to the playoffs and you and Col Hogan would be there touting how the BSC is weak.

Wrong! That is the first time that I have EVER bashed the Big Sky, and only then 'cause I was lobbed a softball. You guys have some pretty strong teams, but Montana wins so often that some of the other teams don't get full credit.
