Big Sky Predictions 9-5

In honoring Dolly Parton, the games this weekend are on 9-5. Ok, maybe not but the actual week 1 of college football is here. All the Big Sky teams already have 1 game under their belt so week 1 is actually game 2 (I think). After week 0, I am at 5-2. Hoping for a clean sweep this weekend. All the teams play this weekend, including a game involving two conference members, Weber State and Southern Utah, playing a non-conference game. Here are my predictions, starting with Idaho's game on Thursday.
UI at Utah (FBS Big 12)---The Vandals didn't look too good on the road last week at fellow conference foe Cal Poly. Now they have to move up a level and play a strong Big-12 team on the road again. This one may not be as close as last week...Utah 45, UI 14.
Drake (FCS Pioneer) at UM---The Grizzlies get another home contest this weekend, bringing in one of the better teams in the Pioneer League to their cozy confines. After a tough tussle last week against Southern Utah, this one may be a little easier...UM 42, Drake 10.
ISU at Utah State (FBS Pac-12)---Fresh from their dismantling of the Southern Conference's patsy, the Bengals move up a level and make the short trip south to take on Utah State. The Bengals may have the team to stay in the game. Can they win?...Utah State 31, ISU 28.
Northern Iowa (FCS Missouri Valley) at EWU---The Eagles headed out on the road in conference last week and felt like they should have got the win. But you have to see it through. They return to their red turf and welcome a quality program from the Missouri Valley...EWU 28, Northern Iowa 21.
UTU at Brigham Young (FBS Big 12)---Last week, the Trailblazers got a stern welcome to the conference from Montana State. Now they have to play up a level and head north to face a nationally ranked FBS team. This could get ugly for the Trailblazers...Brigham Young 63, UTU 7.
South Dakota (FCS Missouri Valley) at UNC---The Bears were hoping for some good things this year, building on the surprises from last year. Last week was not a good way to start. Neither is bringing in a strong Missouri Valley squad this week, even at home...South Dakota 38, UNC 20.
Central Washington (DII) at CP---After their surprise win last week at home against one of the conference's top tier teams, the Mustangs bring in a DII team. Central Washington has been good recently but they lost a lot to Portland State. Mustangs should win...CP 35, Central Washington 21.
WSU at SUU---A non-conference game with two conference members. The Wildcats are feeling good after their conference road win at Northern Colorado. The Thunderbirds were competitive in one of the conference's tough venues last week. Who gets this?...SUU 35, WSU 21.
Butler (FCS Pioneer) at MSU---The Bobcats welcomed the new member Utah Tech to the conference last week and showed them who's the boss of the conference. They bring in a member of the Pioneer League for their season home opener. More of the same...MSU 45, Butler 7.
NAU at Arizona (FBS Big 12)---The Lumberjacks kind of escaped last week, gaining a hard fought conference home win. They now have to move up a level and play their Big 12 brothers down south. Can they recover and be competitive in this game?...Arizona 38, NAU 17.
PSU at San Diego State (FBS Pac-12)---The Vikings looked surprisingly good in the first half last week against UC Davis. But the wheels came off in the second half. They also move up a level this weekend into the Pac-12 conference. What will they look like here?...San Diego State 45, PSU 14.
UCD at San Diego (FCS Pioneer)----It took a little over a half, but the Aggies finally woke up and did what they were supposed to do last week in getting a road conference win. They hit the road again, playing against the Pioneer League. Will this one be a little easier?...UCD 38, San Diego 10.
UI at Utah (FBS Big 12)---The Vandals didn't look too good on the road last week at fellow conference foe Cal Poly. Now they have to move up a level and play a strong Big-12 team on the road again. This one may not be as close as last week...Utah 45, UI 14.
