The oversight committee will recommend denial.

Interesting. I wonder why considering who they’ve recently let in.
While I'm all for Sac remaining in FCS, I'd be interested in seeing the rationale for this denial. While JMU, CCU, and Liberty have done wonders in FBS (I'd STILL rather see them in FCS, along with UCONN and UMASS), there are many recent call-ups like GA State and Jax State who have NOTHING on Sac, either in terms of football performance, overall athletic performance, or academic performance, much less media market size.
I'm guessing it's because they're trying to go up as an independent.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 5:34 pmWhile I'm all for Sac remaining in FCS, I'd be interested in seeing the rationale for this denial. This smells fishy to me....
Having established the precedent of waivering Liberty, I just can't see how they can deny Sac. ECB?Mvemjsunpx wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 9:49 pmI'm guessing it's because they're trying to go up as an independent.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 5:34 pm

From what I’ve read, they were denied because they didn’t have an FBS Conference Invite. I’m surprised Sac State didn’t negotiate a deal with the Mountain West Conference, based on their location they’d be a perfect fit.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 5:41 pmHaving established the precedent of waivering Liberty, I just can't see how they can deny Sac. I'm not sure how committed Sac and the MWC were to each other; Sac has had eyes only for the Pac-7....BlackFalkin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 7:25 pmFrom what I’ve read, they were denied because they didn’t have an FBS Conference Invite.
