That’s exactly my point.
I interpreted your post to mean that they should probably run a hybrid offense rather than the TO because 300+ lb OL's don't grow on trees.

FTR - UNI has no problem developing 300+ lb OL's.
Thompson would be a good hire.

Sam Washington Out at North Carolina A&T

Washington, who went 31-15 in 4 seasons running the Aggies, won't be coming back next season. The reasons for the split are not clear at this time. This ends a 12-year tenure for Washington with the program overall.

There's probably something going on behind the scenes. His record is too good for a firing for performance, and if he were merely retiring or moving to accept another position, I think that would have been mentioned. Friction with the AD? The Miami newspaper has an article, but you have to pay to read it.

There is a obvious rumor that they could have their eyes on a celebrity coach he had better be the second coming of Eddie Robinson,Archie Cooley.

My first thought as well. I wonder if NiL money, donations to football, and a commitment from the admin to elevate the program are in play.

Clint Killough Will Be Next Coach at UIW

Killough, the assistant head coach, will replace G.J. Kinne as soon as the season's completed. He's a bit light on resume, though, as he's only 29 and hasn't been an OC or DC.

Yep. How many times have we seen successful FCS HC’s leave for position coaches at P5s, and coordinators at G5s? At most G5’s OC is gonna be a salary bump over FCS HC. New UNLV HC is getting 1.75 million. I would imagine Petrrino could be getting in the 750k range mas or menos.

JMU lost their CB coach to the same role at USF. People on the JMU board were like WTF, USF was 1-11 last season. But he probably tripled his salary, at least. The new USF assistant pool is (according to someone on the JMU board) 4.5 million, which would have been, according to what I looked up, high end P5 2018, and probably mid pack P5 level 2022/2023 (The new HC is at 2.5 million).

UNLV might be one of those G5 schools like USF. Even though a mediocre at best program, can throw out P5 level $$ for assistants.

Bethune-Cookman Finds Their Own Coach Prime

The Wildcats have hired Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Ed Reed to be their next head coach. This recent trend of hiring former NFL stars with minimal coaching experience has been hit-or-miss thus far: it worked with Deion Sanders, but it has yet to work with Eddie George at TSU (Mike Minter at Campbell doesn't really count since he was hired long before Deion).
