17-17 at the half

The question: was this the good half for SDSU, or the bad half?
We have our answer. :?

Mellott, if he keeps this up, will be a generational player in this league. Disgusting. Fuck

If he keeps that up he won't survive the season next year.

He is taking some hits, I wonder if the coaching staff will teach Touchdown Tommy on the wonders of the slide

For the regular season next year I would agree- and/or just cut his carries way down, esp vs inferior opponents. Thought I saw he’s only listed at around 200? So its not like he 220 (or 6’7”/260 like the kid from SELA). And have a similar style backup that gets nearly equal reps.

For the playoffs though, esp Frisco, have to ride him as hard as they can- 20 or 30 carries or whatever, and screw trying to get him to slide now, and just hope he doesn’t get injured.

2019 Trey Lance came into Frisco vs JMU only avg about 9+ carries per game. If he’d been carrying it 20 times a game, he might have gotten injured. But vs JMU he had 30 carries (something JMU wasn’t prepared for) for a 166 net. I don’t recall him sliding at all. Course I believe he was listed around 220..

Made me think of 2008. JMU had a 220 lb bruiser at QB Rodney Landers. 268 carries for 1884 yds in 13 1/2 games- close to 20 carries per game.. NEVER slid. Usually just lowered the boom on people. Lasted the whole season until late in the 1st half of the semis loss vs Montana :ohno:. At that point he’d toted it 17 times for 85.
..peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard..
..But you have to go home now. We have to have peace…
..I know how you feel, but go home, and go home in peace.
