2022 FCS Athletes Entering the Transfer Portal

The 2021 Big Sky Punter of the Year, Brian Buschini of Montana, has entered the transfer portal. Speculation is that the walk-on punter is going to the FBS.

Nebraska has made an offer. Buschini wants to discuss it with his wife. Also on the list are MS State, Utah, OR State, and Washington.
Apparently, the Bugeaters are serious about upgrading their special teams; they recently signed Georgetown long snapper Brady Weas. Punter Daniel Cerni is still on the roster, but is struggling with a knee injury suffered in OCT 2020.

Portland State kicker Cody Williams has entered the portal. He was injured most of the 2021 season. He is best known for kicking the game winning 52-yard field goal to beat Montana in his freshman year.

Just saw on eGriz (my first time on there in years) that UNI QB Will McIlvain is getting some play in the portal, including getting an offer from the Griz, among 11 other D-I offers. But in his case, there's debate over the definition of "offer," as some are speculating that at least some of these may be walk-on offers. Many of these offers appear to be below UNI's MVFC caliber (and some may even be non-schollie), but one is FBS N. Texas.
