Re: Week 8 Scoreboard
Same shit for JMU 2 weeks in row. Play very good/great defense, supar offense, raining in the 2nd half, go ultra conservative on offense, score 1 TD, kick a bunch of FG. JMU 309 yds offense, UD 109. Alot a Johnson‘s throws were off or WR dropping balls. Credit UD’s defense for some of that. The way JMU is playing now they‘ll lose round of 16 or quarterfinals.
JMU‘s FG kicker Ethan Ratke, after making 24 FG in a row going back to NC game 2019, missed 2 vs VU. Has now made 9 in a row (4 vs UR, 5 vs UD). Broke Cooper Kupp‘s altime FCS scoring record.

I thought Brian Westbrook was or is the all-time leader with 544 points. Did Kupp pass Westbrook?BDKJMU wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 5:10 pm Same shit for JMU 2 weeks in row. Very impressed with the Hornet defense in this game. Completely shut down a smoking hot NAU offense. Hornet offense did what it was supposed to do. We were 2 bad redzone turnovers away from hanging half a hundred by halftime.Mvemjsunpx wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:58 pmSac outgained NAU 517-42 in the first half.Mvemjsunpx wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:52 pm Sac leads NAU 37-0 at the half (Sac got 5 TDs in the second quarter )

1. It's correct to be impressed with the Hornet STARTING defense. The backups sure didn't do all that much, at least not THIS week. Hopefully the experience will help them if we get injuries going into the playoffs, and for when they have to step into starting roles during fall camp next year.
2. The last playoff projection I've seen shows Sac at MSU in the first round....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: Week 8 Scoreboard
My bad. Ratke passed Kupp for 4th. I either misheard what the UD commentators said, or they were wrong. Correct, Westbrooks 1st.Gil Dobie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 7:42 pmI thought Brian Westbrook was or is the all-time leader with 544 points. Ratke’s FGs vs UD were 30, 37, 42, 47, 47.
33 of his last 35, 18 of 20 on the season. If he made even 1 of those 2 4th qtr misses vs VU, he’s probably getting a few Payton votes. Oh well.
