As noted in the other thread, I'm wondering what the Committee thinks about Jax State (7-2, 4-1 OVC) and Tarleton State (5-3 FCS Independent). Tarelton at least has an FBS win, but I'm wondering if they're even eligible for the playoffs given the raw deal Cal Baptist got in women's hoops this season (undefeated, untied regular season AND conference tournament champs, yet kicked out anyway). That win over New Mexico State, though, has to be balanced with the fact that the bulk of Tarleton's wins have come against D-II competition. Jax State also has an FBS win, albeit over a winless C-USA team. But the record is impressive.

Tarleton State did in fact beat NMState, which should count as a D.I win. Other than Dixie State, which is in transition also (I assume), who exactly have they beaten to gain entry into the playoffs?

Andy: You missed my later posts. I did mention the weakness in their scheduling (i.e. the vast majority of their wins were against D-II competition). I was banking on their overall record. But as I mentioned elsewhere, I think they sealed their fate this past weekend when they lost to a mediocre D-II school (i.e. one not even CLOSE to a D-II ranking).
