Morehead and Robert Morris are now in the CAA?
I get it now, talking AQ.
Correct, you gave JMU the auto, which they certainly can get.

What is the tie-breaker for the CAA, if 3 teams finish with no losses and a different number of wins.

Imagine a one loss JMU not getting in. It’s possible.

Richmond beats JMU and Hens win out... both 5-0 in CAA, both go, JMU stays home.

Not to put the horse before the cart but If the Hens beat Albany and Nova, they'd be 5-0. JMU can only get to 4-0. Richmond can get to 5-0 if they play and win all their remaining games.

Or 5-0. One of the 2 postponed could be played on 4/17, when all the CAA South teams have a bye week.

Not going to happen. JMU finally got their shit together vs W&M- was 28-0 mid 2nd qtr, 38-3 2nd half and put in backups, 38-10 final. That was despite missing 3 offensive starters, 3 offensive 2 deep, + a couple other guys due to China Virus protocols. I would imagine by Saturday, going on 4 weeks since the virus issues started, that most of them will be back.

Wrong. 5-0, 4-0, and 3-0 are all 100% winning percentage.

I only know this because I made the exact same claim on the JMU board that 5-0 would automatically Trump 4-0, and was corrected that wasn’t the with the league tie breaking formula.

Well, UD is 48 pts ahead of JMU in CAA games point differential. JMU is +31, UD is +79. W&M @ Elon is this Sat postponed due to the China Virus with Elon. I imagine 50/50 Elon @ JMU 4/10 is postponed or cancelled. IF that is the case, 1 of JMU’s 3 postponed could be made up on 4/17, but no guarantee. Regardless, I don’t see JMU overtaking for UD for the tie breaker. Best chance a 3-0/4-0/5-0 in the CAA JMU ovetakes UD, is UD losing to VU.

Unless its April Fools, breaking news on JMU board reporting JMU @ UR, and 4/10 ELon @ JMU, both postponed due to China Virus protocols at UR and Elon. That means 4 of JMU's 8 games, and 4 of 6 CAA, have been postponed. This is turning into a complete joke.

Hey UD, wanna play this weekend?

CAA, between Albany quitting, and the China Virus, is a fooking mess right now. Only 3 of 5 games last Sat, only 2 of 5 games this weekend, and the following weekend looks like only 3 of 5.

4/3:
Open date: UD, W&M, JMU.
Out: Elon (China Virus), UR (China Virus), Albany (quit).
4/10:
Open date : Villanova, JMU.
Out: UR?, Elon (China Virus). Albany (quit).

4/17:
Open date: W&M, Elon, UR

-UR has to play 1 more game to be playoff eligible.
-JMU has to play 1 more CAA game to be CAA AQ eligible, and UR is the only CAA South team JMU hasn't played.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Division I Football Championship Committee released a top-10 ranking on Thursday, April 1. The announcement was revealed during ESPNU’s 7:30 p.m. ET broadcast of the Kentucky vs. Mississippi State baseball game.

Using selection criteria and results through games played on Sunday, March 28, James Madison of the Colonial Athletic Association earned the top spot in the nation with an unblemished 4-0 record. The defending national champion North Dakota State Bison (5-1) and South Dakota State Jackrabbits (4-1) both representing the Missouri Valley Football Conference followed in second and third place, respectively. The Southland’s Sam Houston (3-0) was selected fourth while the MVFC’s North Dakota (4-1) and Weber State (3-0) of the Big Sky Conference tied for fifth place to round out the top five slots.

“With only a few weeks left before Selection Sunday, during a unique year with both fall and spring competition, this top-10 reveal is a great way to highlight FCS Football.” said Kyle Moats, chair of the committee and Director of Athletics at Missouri State University.

The remainder of the top-10 includes the CAA’s second conference member among the rankings with Delaware (3-0) at seventh followed by VMI (5-0), a Southern Conference member, in the eighth position. The Big Sky’s UC Davis (3-1) is ninth, followed by Murray State (5-0), an Ohio Valley Conference member, who earned the 10th and final position.

“The ranking provides a snapshot look at potential teams competing for top seed positions in the upcoming 2020 FCS Championship.” said Moats. “As a committee, we’ve had robust conversations and look forward to the many football games left to play, along with additional discussions with our regional advisory committees, to continue to evaluate the teams that we feel have already built impressive resumes.”

The reveal is based on the criteria used to select and seed teams for the Division I Football Championship. At any time during the process, the committee may consider comparative data of individual teams, including but not limited to overall record, record against Division I opponents, record against opponents from other automatic qualifying conferences, record against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents, head-to-head record, common opponents’ record, FCS Coaches Poll, NCAA Simple Rating System data and input from regional advisory committees.

The announcement is part of the continued team assessments that will culminate with the final bracket, revealed during the selection show on Sunday, April 18, at 11:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

The 2020 championship field will consist of 11 automatic qualifiers and 5 at-large qualifiers. Fall competitions will be considered when determining the field for the spring championship.

All rounds of the FCS playoffs will be broadcast on ESPN’s family of networks with first-round games taking place Saturday, April 24 and concluding with the national championship game at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, Sunday, May 16, at 2 p.m. ET on ABC.

Top-10 Rankings (record through games played on Sunday March 28):

1. James Madison (4-0)
2. North Dakota St. (5-1)
3. South Dakota St. (4-1)
4. Sam Houston (3-0)
T-5. North Dakota (4-1)
T-5. Weber St. (3-0)
7. Delaware (3-0)
8. VMI (5-0)
9. UC Davis (3-1)
10. Murray St. (5-0)

Everything's going to be tight with there only being 16 getting in. I'm wondering if Jax State (7-2, 4-1 OVC) and Tarleton State (5-3 FCS Independent) are going to get a look. Is Tarleton even eligible for the playoffs, given the Cal Baptist controversy in the women's hoops tournament?

How big of an asterisk should the eventual national champion have next to this season's title?

I think every team that made it through the season without quitting should get participation trophies. Forget about crowning a champion.

So you don't think that winning a Natty this year is a little watered down? Kind of like winning the I-AA Natty in 1979? :D
