You make good points, Gil. My first thought was actually (a great surprise for me) the Manure Pile. A lack of games likely did them in....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

They had one of the hardest SoS' and they didnt even get a seed despite being undefeated. I watched the reaction of the Weber players and you could tell they were pissed. I hope they use this as motivation.
I saw the JMU coach whining about not being the autobid from the CAA and getting a 3 seed. He needs to talk to the CAA about the schedule or play a better non-conference schedule than Robert Morris and Morehead St.
And who did SHSU play OOC? NOBODY..Yet they got the #2 seed without really beating anyone of note..

How it should have been seeded (if 8 seeds):
1. SDSU
2. JMU
3. SHSU
4. UD
5. Weber (or flip them with UD, but Weber had a couple wins that they pulled out of their arse).
6. UND
7. EWU
8. JSU

I could go with that. The consensus here is JSU os too high.

UD is the defacto #5 seed since they have a home game & then will be @ JSU for the qtr finals.

I know that, but Delaware wasn't a seed. I thought all games against non-seeds were by highest bid, if they were one of the sites chosen by the committee. I assume EWU would have been a higher seed than NDSU.

I'm not sure having a home game makes you a defacto unseeded seed but being favored and then scheduled to play the #4 seed does make you the defacto #5 seed.

Many think that Weber is the top unseeded team but they were rewarded with a trip to #1 SDSU if they win their first round game so they are the defacto #8 seed.

Well, UD got gifted into the semis..

Top 1/2 of the bracket 3 of the top 9 teams: SDSU, Weber, UD..

Bottom half 6 of the top 9 teams: JMU, NDSU, SHSU, UND, EWU, Mo St..
https://www.ncaa.com/_flysystem/public- ... -superpage

Looks like Frisco will be SDSU vs whoever survives the bottom 1/2 of the bracket meatgrinder.

The Championship Game is on ABC at 1100 PT. The Final Four is showing three timing and viewing options, so those games are really up in the air: 0900 PT on ESPN, 1700 PT on ESPN2, or 1130 on ABC. The previous rounds all seem to have only the streaming option on ESPN3 or on the ESPN app if you have a smart phone (in other words, if you're not SuperHornet)....

On what are you basing that? Coaches poll and Stats has it 4 and 5

Where in the world are you seeing Missouri State as a top team?

Petrino is a jagoff but he can coach. They may not be a top team but they could pull some upsets.

SW Missouri State is also on something of a hot streak. That may have factored into the committee's thinking, particularly since the COVID-influenced scheduling was highly MVFC-centric for them, at least once the spring season started.

Was it their win over 3-4 UTM, 2-5, TTU or 2-5 TSU that was particularly impressive? :coffee:

Try wins over then-21 South Dakota, then-#10 UNI (both of those on the road), a win over then-#10 SIU. Particularly given their struggles during the abortive fall season, this improvement is something phenomenal, 89....

That, and I don't see any of those teams on their schedule....
