Of 35 games scheduled, so far 4 postponed, including Weber St @ Cal Poly & ETSU @ Wofford (probably won't be made up). 1 SWAC game cancelled. CAA and NEC start league play this week. Next week the Patriot starts (4 league games + champ game. Big South (4 league games) doesn't start league play till 3/20. All times ECB.
Thur, 3/4 (tonight)
-USD (1-0) @ UND (2-0) 6 PM. Winner of this has sole possession of 1st place in the MVFC.
Fri, 3/5
-Albany @ UNH, 7 PM
Sat, 3/6 (22 games + 3 postponed). The most interesting 6 IMHOP.
-Maine @ UD (Noon)
-VU @ SBU (Noon). Is VU a contender, or a pretender?
-SIU (2-1/1-1) @ YSU (0-2) (Noon) Does SIU have a major letdown? I would imagine YSU is still capable of beating one of the top 6 or so MVFC teams at home, if that team has a down day..
-NDSU (2-1/1-1) @ MO St (1-3/1-0) (3 PM) While MO St was picked to finish 9th of 10 MVFC (teams playing), they did knock off the last place picked team WIU last week 30-24 on the road. How does NDSU bounce back?
-NAU (1-0) @ EWU (0-1) (4:00 PM). From the Big Sky, I had Weber and EWU as the 2 playoff teams. Now EWU is in must win for 5 straight, and hope they can get in with an At-Large.
-ILSU (0-1) @ UNI (1-1) (5 PM). Before the season, UNI was pegged as an NC contender, and ILSU as a playoff contender. Assuming 6-2 out of the MVFC to make the playoff field, loser will have to run the table their last 6 or 5 MVFC games to get in, which is highly unlikely.
Sun, 3/7 (6 games + 1 postponed). OVC (3 games) continuing with Sunday games.

7-3 UND early 3rd.
-1st half UND had 3 nice drives going, but the fumble at the USD 1 yd line, and also threw a pick at the USD 25.
-USD, starting a talented true Fr QB in a spread, looks like maybe the 7th or 8th best MVFC team, but were able to upset ILSU last week 27-20 after ILSU turned the ball over a wholping 7 times, and are +2 in the turnovers this game.

North Dakota looking really good.....but I want to see them play away from their dome. 4 of last 5 on the road will show what that team is made of.

SIU up on YSU 30-22 with possession and less than 3 minutes to go.
YSU is better with Waid at QB.

The Valley remains deep if not even deeper with talent.. I was impressed with USD in their loss too.

JMU 20, Elon 17 Final.
Pulled the starting QB 3rd qtr down 17-6. I missed most of the 4th qtr comeback. We still suck. Playoffs yeah, but maybe no seed & no Frisco.
I haven’t been on the JMU yet. Bout to venture over to that meltdown..

JMU last week lost near consensus 2019 AA Sr OT Liam Fornadel for winter/spring season due to a shoulder injury suffered vs RMU. DNP vs Elon. Guess that cements that he’ll shoot for the 2022 draft/UDFA. Both of JMU’s backup OT’s true Fr.
Since last season, of 22 who started vs NDSU im Frisco, have lost 12 seniors, 3 to transfer, and now AA OT. Down to 6 who started in Frisco Jan 2020. + lost 2 would be starting DE to knee injuries in the Fall. Issues at QB. Don’t have it this season. Playoffs? Probably. Can’t see making a run, though.

UNI beats ISUr 20-10.
UNI D holds the Redbirds to a FG (TD was a pick-6).

This has been and will continue to be a weird year. I'm not going to crown anyone or count anyone out after a game or two.

Yep, we shutout the 2 worst teams in the Valley. Looked better, but the copetition wasn't.
Lot of Freshmen and Sophs playing right now. Before the spring season started there were 28 Freshmen and sophomores on the 2 deep, offense and defense.

Is the potential problem that there are that many freshman and sophomores on the 2 deep or is it a question of the quality of the freshman and sophomores? Has recruiting dropped off since Klieman left? How big of a role did he play in NDSU's success over the last decade or so?

Klieman was the reason for great run, combined with the inexperience, is probably the reason for the drop in level of play. We lost a QB and O-lineman that will be drafted, and half the Sr class since the fall game.
