If you just look at the FBS games Northern Iowa's performance was more impressive. And Northern Iowa played in what was, this year, a tougher conference. I favor JMU. But I'd be nervous about this one if I was a JMU fan.

To have a chance, UNI needs to avoid:
- Starting slow and falling behind early
- Turnovers
- Taking chances and pushing their luck if they're trailing.

I think JMU has way too much offense. Defensively they should keep UNI under 18. It has all the trappings of a blowout but UNI’s D is for real and JMU has not faced a quality FCS defense all season. Might be interesting.

UNI has the talent to stay in this game but TOP will be critical. If JMU sustains some long drives and UNI has a bunch of 3 and outs the UNI defense is going to wear down.
Who is available from the walking wounded will be a factor for UNI as well. If the stars align and we have Moore, Weston, McShane and Hoosman healthy and playing, our offense might be just a tad bit better. And our defense will be better and deeper if Kolveric and Thomas are able to play.

West Virginia beat JMU 20-14
Iowa St beat UNI 28-26
Iowa St beat West Virginia @ West Virginia 38-14
Looking at the scores, I would say UNI over JMU, but you never know how the teams matchup until they play. Has each team improved since that early season game versus a FBS team.

St Francis PA is ranked 13.

And CCSU is ranked #6 (one spot ahead of UNI). Who did they play and how did they do against Albany?

And San Diego has the 8th ranked offense right behind...you guessed it. JMU.

Well then.
WVU beat K-State 24-20. K State beat Iowa St 27-17..
JMU beat Monmouth 66-21
Monmouth beat KSU 45-21
Weber beat KSU 26-20
Weber beat UNI 29-17
Add that all up and JMU is +75 over UNI.
Or JMU beat Monmouth 66-21.
Montana beat Monmouth 47-27
Montana beat Weber 35-16
Weber beat UNI 29-17
Add that all up and JMU is +56 over UNI.
Looking at the scores I would say JMU over UNI.
Of course JMU is going to beat UNI by 75 or 56. Prime example of how the comparative score thing is dumb.

With this kind of energy behind them James MADISON is going to crush Northern Iowa.

Many people are saying JMU by 56-75, from what I'm seeing. I'm just saying, UNI might not be as bad as many people think. Comparative scores are not a very good measure of teams playing head to head, but UNI keeping it close with Iowa St, says they can play with the big boys, and yes JMU is a big boy. This young NDSU team doesn't have a chance against them.

I haven’t seen anyone saying JMU by 56-75. That’s ludicrous. I’m thinking JMU by more like 14 to 21 in a bad weather game.
