EC(b) Explained With Maps

Two days after Minnesota hosts South Dakota State at TCF Bank Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 29, North Dakota State will "host" Butler at Target Field on Saturday, Aug. 31. TCF Bank Stadium is roughly 3,000 feet east of the Mississippi River, and Target Field is roughly 3,000 feet west of the Mississippi River.
Two FCS games. Same city. Two days apart. Different sides of the river.
While that two-game set is a 50-50 geographical split, the rest of the 2019 schedule leans heavily to the east. Seventy percent of all FCS regular-season games will be played east of the river:

BOOM!
Seattle Magazine already stated that blue crabs taste better in their comparison article. The only win for dungeness was that it's bigger.
So basically, the west coast snob writer conceded that dungeness is the buffet of the crab world.
BOOM-erang.
My hijack is now over. You can have the stick back.

I'm not even opening some article by a fag in San Francisco. Seattle was bad enough.

This is probably the dullest map ever. Of course 70% of FCS games are east of the Mississippi. So are 70% if FBS due to the fact most of the population is there also.

CSS, some people have a tough time understanding how geography effects polls, national awards, the need to schedule DII’s and multiple FBS games, etc. EG: 70% of your sports writers and coaches/SID’s who vote in the polls couldn’t find Pokafellow on a map.
Consider this a refresher.

Also - the people that say that since Montana borders the Dakotas, the Montana schools and the Dakota schools must be close to each other.

Notwithstanding 89's thorough smackdown of kalmie's unsubstantiated west coast whining, who really cares from an FCS standpoint? We have a large playoff system that any team remotely deserving (and many undeserving) get to make, so it's all decided on the field anyway. Those NDSU folks almost never moan about EC(b), so methinks the issue is more restricted to fanbases that need to use field color as a schtick than anything else.

The bolded are NOT west of the Mississippi.
The Underlined are on the Mississippi, not really western schools (Neither are NDSU or UNI).

So you admit that you don't know Geography.

What is the title of this thread? Exactly none of the ones you pointed out are east coast. EVEN dismissing the couple, it's clear that schools west of the Mississippi are OVER-represented in the awards and polls.

The article used the Mississippi as the dividing line. Then YOU used schools EAST of the Mississippi to try to prove some point.
Just admit, you tried to sneak some flyover schools on the list to make it seem more impressive.

It's plenty impressive without them, but I didn't read the article, just that Kalm, the creator of this thread, said it was east cost and it was Kalm who implied that somehow the awards and polls were biased against western schools.

You mean all three NDSU fans on this board don't moan about it???
Oh wait...Gil has mentioned it a number of times. So 2 out 3 haven't. Wow!
If you visited AGS you'd see it mentioned quite a bit.
89's weak rebuttal didn't prove shit other than the success witnessed by Western teams despite the obvious EC(b).

And Dback is right, strip away the midwest teams and the point is even more pronounced.
