Tennessee State has suspended quarterback Demry Croft indefinitely following his indictment on rape and sexual battery charges.

The 22-year-old Croft was released from jail Monday on $50,000 bond. He faces six counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery.

The indictment against Croft says he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct and sexual penetration on Dec. 1 without the woman's consent. The indictment says force or coercion was used.

All eight counts involve the same woman.

It was not clear Tuesday whether an attorney was representing Croft.

Croft started Tennessee State's first four games last year before an injury sidelined the Minnesota transfer for the remainder of the season. He completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 888 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. He rushed for 146 yards on 38 carries.

He started the final six games of Minnesota's 2017 season before transferring.

He is a gang bang gopher transfer. They have a terrible history of sexual abuse, few charges and lots of talk about how society causes it. At Minnesota, Croft was suspended by Fleck for a violation of team rules. When he transferred, Croft said he was “falsely accused of damaging a door” and “video clearly shows my innocence.”

"You always talk to the guys about these type things," Reed said. "Unfortunately they happen. You try to keep them coached up on it the best you can. Sometimes things just happen, you can't explain. But it is what it is right now, we've got to move forward. It's only a week before the (first) game, so next man up."

It really not a crime, these thing happen. What is wrong with that guy? It’s explained because it’s a violent crime. Croft is a criminal. You have another violent rapist in your midst you recruit without considering character. It’s your fault too Reed. That’s how these things happen.
