Here are some recent results coming from The GAM Research Headquarters:
Montana @ University South Dakota
August 31, 2 PM
Vermillion, SD: DakotaDome
PREDICTED WINNER: Montana Grizzlies -2.5
OVER/UNDER: 61
MYTHICAL SCORE: USD 27 GRIZZLIES 29
Tickets: right now it looks like season tickets only available at USD on line Tickets
https://tkt.xosn.com/tickets/TicketLand ... M_ID=33000
Early test of two teams often mentioned when pre-season talk turns to possible playoff bubble teams or first round at large picks.
If either team is going to live up to that hype they will need to improve over last season.
USD has Sr. Austin Simmons returning at QB. Montana is a year older but still young. Up and down record in 2018 shows an unstable inconsistant team. Maybe Veteran coach Bobby Hauck can stabilize the ship, at least enough to win this one on the road.
Directly from GAM Research Headquarters
****MISPRICING ALERT*****
Today 5 dimes is predicting a higher scoring game than the GAM and willing to give Montana fans 3.5 points. This indicates a total swing of 6 points to Montana from the GAM indicator showing Montana a 2.5 point favorite. A Montana win may not take it over the 69.5. We are taking Montana to win, the points, and the under.
FIVE DIMES: SOUTH DAKOTA -3.5 O/U 69.5
From GAM Research Headquarters
SAGARIN COLLEGE FOOTBALL
USD 131 53.21
Montana 135 52.77
Predicted winner USD -3.5 using a 3 point home field adjustment, toss up without it.

What's a GAM?

Game Analyzer Mechanism, GAM for short. It gives you a leg up when prognosticating football games.

The GAM is propriatry software, not for sale. Used to be on Kansas State and Iowa boards until the Bison beat them, as the GAM predicted. This is a wider deployment of the GAM. It has in the past been used to predict Bison games exclusively.
Was on the Coyote board for a couple years where we experimented deploying it over a wider spectrum of games. That guy didn't like the fact I posted Minneapolis was now one of Americas 50 most dangerous cities. He wants St Thomas in the Summit too, even though they don't draw squat for fans at any sport.
Attendance records show Augie has a much larger participating fan base, even larger than USDs. In Basketball attendance they would be in the middle or maybe better in the Summit.
He was also upset about the comments on the struggling UND business model: D1 hockey and all other sports. Schools UNDs size with D1 hockey are almost all D1 hockey and D2 sports. It was suggested UND go D2 or possibly may be better served in a Summit non-scholarship league, at least regarding the budget.
Summit non-scholarship is a good idea especially with the Wisconsin school starting up a non-scholarship program. Augie and any other struggling Summit team might find budget relief in non-scholarship.
Considering travel costs the Pioneer could use splitting up either into divisions or formation of a new non-scholarship league. Either way the Summit could be involved.

More on the Montana/USD match-up:
The Dakota Dome is under a season-long renovation. Seating will be around 5,000 for the games. I dont know if any tickets will be available.

Doesn’t know squat about football either.

The Bismarck Tribune is reporting Augie to the Summit and St. Thomas to the D2 NSIC.
This makes sense. The rumored St Thomas directly to D1 made no sense if Augie leaving opened a spot in the D2 NSIC.

University of Denver hates the idea. One commenter says it’s laughable for them to be in a league playing in 1,200 seat gyms in a league where the Dakotas are calling the shots.
As far as DU goes they are laughable and are forced to travel to the Dakotas regularly. Augie would mean a lot more Dakota visits. Good.

Is the Golden Arm Committee still active?

Yes. They produce, sponsor and oversee all programs undertaken by GAM Research. There is also a file on my computer called Golden Arm Committee.
Here's what's been going on since the Golden Arm accurately predicted the rise of the Bison dynasty to the angry mobs on this board back in 2010.
The Golden Arm Committee was so successful with its opening Ed Schultz (may God bless)/UND series that it set up the GAM Football Foundation dedicated to research and advancement of the game.
To this day that column is still a bitter point with those folks from the university. Of course they appear to many as clumsy and dull of wit but who knows? They did pull the shades in their moms basement and the Golden Arm hasn't been able to log on to SS.com since.
The GAM is primarily involved in prognostication and spotting those miss-priced games on 5dimes. They will also soon have the capability to predict the winner of the MVFC as the picture evolves week-to-week.
The GAM is working on the Ducks game now. At last report the GAM was showing NDSU 31 Oregon 24. It will be updated every week. There is a thread on their board that will become more active once the season gets underway.
A severe philosophical difference with NDSU and it's Foundation has led to a complete break in those relationships. It's doubtful they can be repaired. There has been no movement on either side and none is expected, but they do continue to send the budget.
This difference also disrupted the Team Makers relationship but the retirement of the simmers fellow may help restore that, in time.
They haven't resumed any fund raising efforts with us and the last lunch invitation they extended was refused. We also leave our ad blocker on when visiting the NDSU athletic site.
So that's it and the first round of games is about to put the GAM to the test.

WATCH: ABC Montana (SWX in Billings) will simulcast the MidCoSN broadcast of the UM/USD game across the state of Montana. Jay Elsen will provide the play-by-play, Andre Fields will serve as analyst, and Elaina Lanson will report from the sidelines at the DakotaDome.
Griz fans outside the state can stream the game via ESPN+, or watch a free stream at GoYotes.com.

This game is looking interesting. Its getting tougher for the USD fans, they now have to cover 6 points in las vegas. It was less earlier.
The GAM shows Montana a -4 favorite. Thats a 10 point swing. Personally I think Montana is even better than the GAM gives credit but we are taking the 6 points and Montana.
as for the 3 factors. Using the GAM as a guide we are taking
1. Montana to cover 4
2. Over/Under is 69.5. We take under. The GAM shows 61.
3. Straight up line bet. We take Montana.
Looking for 3 more points and the juice is 10 so the 100 at risk could add 220 to our score against the crowd samplers at 5Dimes.
Currently we have 220 in hand.
at risk
- 100 on UNI juice 20
100 on Montana juice 10
If the GAM has it right we are hoping to be up 650 on the crowd samplers.

Another haircut for the Vegas crowd samplers. I had Montana +6! Got 220 back. GAM has now turned 100 into 630 with the UNI, SDSU and Montana games.
The crowd samplers will get better. You have to jump on them early but they aren’t perfect either. The GAM gives me a leg up and takes out the guess work. I never bet but it’s fun to take them on like this.
100 grows fast in the right hands. I’m up 530 and have 630 in hand. If the opportunities are there 6 virtual bets can be placed next week or a couple bigger virtual bets can be made. The GAM will guide me in my time.
I wasn’t surprised by this at all. USD has nothing. They are looking for 3 wins in the MVFC to equal last years disappointing record. Good luck to the Yotes. You can follow their progress as the MVFC season unfolds on the GAM and is reported here.
Learn about the future today, get a leg up with the GAM.
forgot to mention USD is going down to University of Oklahoma to serve their time as a tomato can next week. I cant wait to see those odds.
