LSU head coach's son got first start for McNeese

And it was fortuitous. LSU had an open date with Alabama coming up. So Dad Ed Orgeron got to go Lake Charles and watch his son get his first start at quarterback.

Only thing is he let the cat out of the bag. McNeese head coach Lance Guidry told Cody Orgeron he was going to be the starter on Monday. Cody called Dad. Dad reported the situation on his LSU coach's show:
McNeese never officially named Cody the starter ahead of the game. James Tabary remained the starting quarterback on the flip card on game day.

No reporter broke the news either. Ed did.

When wrapping up his weekly radio show on Wednesday (Oct. 25), Ed discussed some of his off week plans, saying he was headed to Lake Charles to watch Cody start for McNeese.

“Cody needed to know. We tried to keep it in house as much as we could,” Guidry said. “We told them to tell their parents not to say anything, but [hits table, laughing] Ed Orgeron at his radio show. But you know what, that goes to show you that when you're a daddy, it's different. That's what people don't understand. When it comes to your children, that overrides being a coach."

Guidry added with a laugh: “It's all right if Ed did it."

The writer of this, incidentally, is Amie Just, who was the Griz beat writer until a few weeks ago.

From Missoula to New Orleans is quite a cultural and environmental change.

I've only been to Missoula once and I was just passing through. But it didn't smell like piss.

There is no comparison between Missoula and New Orleans. You can like what you like and not like what you don't like. But Missoula is extremely "clean" compared to New Orleans.

Some people prefer the dirty, nasty, atmosphere of New Orleans. That's fine. But make no mistake: New Orleans is a dirty, nasty atmosphere.

I stand by my statement...Well not real close by it, because I don't want to get pee on my shoes...

Sac is a fucking shit hole. From the crime rate to the crappy ass weather to the traffic. I have lived in both places and I will take Missoula any day, and I don't even like Missoula.

I lived in Sac for 12 years, it was the worst place I ever lived. The foggy gray winters suck, the land of curvy streets and 3way stop signs, due to poor planning sucks, city/state taxes sucks, and it has a terrible freeway set up thanks to Gov. Moonbeams first go round as Gov.

Why did I see that one coming.

There’s nothing wrong with Spokane’s freeway set up...except there’s only one.

You ever try getting on the dam thing from downtown? It is a complete joke.

Just a few times. It has 4 on ramps within a mile. The only one even occasionally busy is Maple Street. :?

After the Hamilton exit, Gonzaga, there is only three exits heading West. Division, Lincoln and Cedar. After that you are heading out of town.
As for heading East there are exits at Maple, Division, and again Hamilton.
For on ramps heading West you have Hamilton, Browne and Jefferson.
For East bound on ramps you have Monroe and Browne.
For a town with over 217, 000 people and over 300,000 area that is a joke.

Psht...I forgot Maple doesn't have an on-ramp but Hamilton does. Who cares about heading east anyway. :coffee:

(Still never been much of a problem for me).

I would guess that it isn't much of a problem because you rarely ever set foot in Spokane. Trust me, it is a pain in the ass. :kisswink:
