Big Sky has another big match up besides what is listed:

4-1 Idaho State @ 4-1 UC Davis

Weber game lost some luster with their loss this weekend. EWU should win big, but you never know. Elon could be a let down game, and a Blue Hen win.

I went with the MEAC clash versus the 3rd or 4th place CAA game.

I think this is a bigger game than the EWU/WSU game.

Davis is seriously 4-1?

Oh wait, I just saw their schedule. Meh. ISU rips them a new one in this game.

Idaho State lost to Cal, Davis lost to Stanford. I guess, along with not being mentioned as a GOTW, one could call this "The Small Game".

Maybe Davis's band will run out on the field and ISU will run through it for a touchdown.

Gotta go with Davis-ISU. Biggest game in a long time for the men of Pocatello.

You’re welcome, Klam!

In at least 7 days. You really don't think Idaho coming to the mini dome was bigger? :suspicious:

The spuds are garbage, and that game doesn't have the conference implications that this one does.

And don't forget Montana-UND.

There really are some interesting common opponent and playoff scenarios floating around with these games. For example UND's win @ SHSU who is now very likely to run the table, finish 9-2 and is a darling of the committee. Even if Montana beats UND they still have a couple of tough games left but could be lurking at 9-2 or 8-3. Then ISU is out there with a win over UND who could also get on a roll (they have a solid defense and running attack). Of course ISU also has a win over NAU who's still alive thanks to the Weber win and a blowout out of FCS UTEP.

Fun stuff to keep an eye on.

I'm just interested in Rhode Island. That to me is a big story this year. That all of a sudden appears to be a good football team from a program that has historically been a doormat. I don't know what happened there but something apparently happened.

Jury is still out. Their only good win is against Delaware and as any loyal Blue Hen will tell ya, that’s not a very good win.

(Btw, ISU, Missouri State, and Davis are equally as surprising to me)

I mean, Hawkins was a Big 12 coach at one point. Granted not a very successful one, but I'm not surprised he's putting Davis on the map, especially considering it's his alma mater.

They are, but first game in 10 years for these two in state teams, first win against them for ISU since 1995 and how long had it been since the Vandals came to Pocatello? I know if I were an ISU fan I would have been pretty excited about that game and the trouncing.

I guess it depends on how one defines what a "big" game is.

Back when the Griz were relevant, MSU was a "big" game, but it was also just another step on the way to bigger things.

Griz and Idaho State couldn't be much more different. It was a foregone conclusion that Montana would advance to the playoffs because the rest Fluffy was so pitiful. Last time ISU made the playoffs Reagan was in his first term. If we had any ISU fans here, maybe they could shed some light as to whether last weeks crushing of Idaho was a big deal.

https://www.idahostatejournal.com/news/ ... 78c22.html
Saturday’s game didn’t quite break Holt Arena’s dry spell of not having sold out for an ISU football game since the Bengals played Boise State University in 1984. But more tickets were sold on Saturday than for any other ISU football game since 2003 when the Bengals played the University of Montana, according to ISU spokesman Stuart Summers.

The historic win now gives the Bengals a 3-0 record in the Big Sky Conference for the first time since 1981.
But I guess I could be wrong. ;)

Which I was, they have screwed us over in everything academically, latest of which was the med school. Instead of giving it to us, they made it part ISU, UI, and of all places Boise.

I was not happy ISU pulled the plug early in the 4th. I wanted at least 70.
