I’m going to have to pull a Missouri on this poll.

Delaware at #12? Show me.

Huge drop off after 1 and 2 in this poll. This is not your father’s FCS/I-AA.

We need more good OOC games within I-AA during the season.

NDSU has a former champions Delaware, future champion in North Alabama and a former conference mate in Cal Poly.

Looking at you Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State... playing each other doesn't help me.

Must not be any Griz fans/posters on AGS anymore...

While I agree wee need more good OOC games within I-AA, Kennesaw & JSU are doing their part.
-Kennesaw vs JSU (#1, #3, #3 seed the last 3 seasons) in Atlanta
-Samford @ Kennesaw (Samford playoffs last 2 seasons and pre season pick to win the So-Con).
-NC A&T @ JSU this Sat. (NC A&T 12-0 & finished top 10 last season).
-UNI @ Montana (Montana's 1st game with Hauck back, UNI playoff last season).
-Montana @ WIU (WIU playoffs last season).
-UD @ NDSU (UD pre season CAA #3/top 15 most polls).
-Furman @ Elon (both were playoffs last year and are projected playoffs this year).
-Colgate @ UNH (Colgate was playoff last year & the pre season pick to win the Patriot again).
-S Dakota @ Weber St (both playoff teams last season).

4 of those 15 teams (JSU, Montana, NDSU, UD) aren't playing a I-A game, so it makes it easier to schedule a home/home with a marquee I-AA OOC opponent & still have 6 home games on the season the marquee I-AA opponent is an away game.

Some other matchups that I'm not sure when they were scheduled, but a year ago would have looked like good OOC matchups:
-N Dakota @ SHSU (N Dakota #7 seed 2016, sucked last season).
-Cal Poly @ NDSU (Cal Poly playoffs 2016, sucked last season).

I don't agree. I said playing each other doesn't help. Samford beat KSU in the regular season last year. NCAT... Who did they play/beat OOC?

And Kennesaw beat Samford in the playoffs (and JSU) & made the qtr finals while only starting 2 seniors.

I got you now on the "playing each other doesn't help" part in regards to KSU & JSU. I halfway agree on that. It doesn't help the loser. It sure helps the winner in terms of SOS & having 1 more quality win over another playoff team come seeding time.

NC A&T didn't beat anyone of note I-AA, but they did get a G5 win over a terrible UNCC.

Samford was an overrated team. Their "big" win OOC was Kennesaw and Kennesaw's "big" win OOC was Samford.

The SoCon is a shell of it's former self. They beat nobody out of conference last year. Ranked SoCon teams OOC last year:

Wofford - beat Gardner-Webb (barely), and Presby, lost to South Carolina and got clobbered by NDSU
El Cid - beat Newberry and Presby, lost to Clemson
Furman - beat Colgate, split with Elon and lost to NCSt
WCU - beat Davidson and Gardner-Webb, lost to UNC

Furman beating Elon in the playoffs was basically the marquis win for the SoCon and to be honest, Elon was a very mediocre team last year. They very easily could have been a sub .500 team. 2OT to Towson, 1 point win over URI... their biggest margin of victory all year was an 8 point win over 2-9 W&M.

All I'm saying is that too often people get caught up in records without really looking at who teams beat and maybe more importantly, who the teams in their conference beat. NCAT is a function of that. Jacksonville State is a function of that. If either played in the CAA or MVFC, they would not make the playoffs unless they improved. Yet here they are, year after year in the top 10-15.
