Yep, it still makes zero sense to make these teams wait three weeks to play the Championship game. No, it still doesn't bring anymore people to watch or go to the game.

It's so these teams still in it can hit the recruiting deadlines...nothing more. Good call to wait to have the chipper.

I'm pretty sure it's because ESPN's schedule is stocked full of bowl games the next 2-3 weeks, so there's likely no room. I do wish they'd stop airing it at noon EST, though. The first January title game was on a Friday night.

It makes it easier on airfare. Order airline tickets 1 week out and the damn prices are sky high..

I am pretty sure these guys charter their own jets.

I love the 3 week build up to the game. Might not be as exciting for fans of other teams, but I love it.

or the
-CHERIBUNDI TART CHERRY BOCA RATON BOWL: AKRON VS. FLORIDA ATLANTIC
or the

Enough to at least make commercials for those games.

Your move slick. :coffee:

Ok, I wouldn't know. I rarely watch (DVR) commercials..The only ones I have noticed are the ones for the Big 6/P5 playoffs..

I did have the DXL Frisco Bowl on ESPN last night with SMU (7-5) vs La Tech (6-6) in the background, just to see what the stadium & new endzone construction looked like and to see if they talked about the NC game. Christ, they couldn't even fill the stadium with the endzone seats still covered. SMU didn't even show up (41-10 at the half). They mentioned the JMU/NDSU game a # of times. Talked about/hyped it for a good minute in the 3rd qtr (well by then it was a complete blowout, so they were searching for filler)..

ESPN2 is doing a 1/2 hr preview show before the game, something I don't think they've done before.

It's so ESPN can hype the game on every broadcast until then. Wall-to-wall FCS coverage leading up to the big game.

That and the Dollar General Bowl.

I personally enjoyed the NC on friday evening it gave the game a sense of excitement like MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on a lower scale as stated before.
