State of Montana shut out

With the selection completed in the FCS, the state of Montana did not get a single team in the playoffs, either FCS or the NAIA. Hard to imagine with the Grizzlies seemingly to always be banging on the FCS playoff's door, and Montana Tech now (and Carroll College before) as a mainstay in the NAIA playoffs. I believe the last time this situation happened was back in 1991 when the Bobcats and Grizzlies both missed out on the DI-AA playoffs, and my alma mater Rocky Mountain College, did not get an at large bid in to the NAIA playoffs despite winning the Frontier conference title. Back then, the Frontier did not get an automatic bid as there were only four teams in the conference playing football (Carroll, Tech, Western Montana and Rocky).
The head coach of that Rocky team was Rick Ulrich, who I believe is the OC at Penn now.

The Great State of Delaware is proudly represented in the D3 playoffs by Wesley College. They handily beat RPI in the first round yesterday.
Suck it, Montana!

Whatever. We don't really care about football anyway.

Because they went 4-6 and they don't play in the Patriot League.

I'm starting to think Van Diest shut down the roiding program.

Iowa has 11-0 and 15th ranked Wartburg in the D3 playoffs
Hosted, and won, the first round game last weekend beating 8-2 Franklin 35-34 on a failed 2 pt attempt in OT
Hosting their second round game this week against #25 Trine.
Trine beat Monmouth (not that one) 63-24 last weekend. Wartburg beat Monmouth 36-13 in the first week of the season - it was Monmouth's only loss before the playoffs.
Should Wartburg win they will likely get #3 UW-Oshkosh in the quarters. UW-O is 10-0 and won their first round playoff game 63-0. UW-O plays #9 North Central (IL) in the second round (who beat #6 St John's in round 1).
That's a hell of a quadrant to be in.
#3 UW-O
#6 St John's
#9 N Central
#15 Wartburg
#25 Trine
#29 Franklin
Lakeland
#1 Mt Union is waiting on the other half of the bracket for the semifinal match up.

Looking at the NAIA field
16 teams the state of Iowa had 3
12-0 Morningside won their first game 63-7
10-1 Northwestern won their first game 55-7
9-3 Grand View (who beats Drake frequently) lost their first game 23-39
Quarterfinals
Northwestern @ 11-0 St Francis (IN)
Morningside vs 10-1 St Xavier (Ill) - who beat Grand View
