University of Montana football player arrested for allegedly beating WSU student

A University of Montana football player was arrested for allegedly beating a Washington State University student in Pullman on Saturday morning

Pullman police responded to a fight shortly after midnight on Saturday on Stadium Way. Officers found a 23-year-old man unresponsive and suffering from head injuries. Witnesses told police the man had been beaten by a group of men.

Police found one suspect, identified as 22-year-old Justin Strong of Missoula. Court documents say Strong told police that he was assaulted by the victim while trying to break up a fight at a house party. Strong told police he acted in self-defense when he hit the victim, knocking him to the ground, then hit him a second time when he tried to get up.

At the risk of repeating myself....the dude's head more than likely bounced off the pavement. Not a lot you can do about that, even in a self-defense scenario...I doubt he did it with his hands or intentionally.

Two things would concern me if I was Stitt about this:

1) Why the heck are you at a house party in Pullman (yes, I know Strong is a WSU transfer) at 2 am on your bye-week.

2) Was it necessary to chase down someone? if the dude was leaving the area, just let him go. Hard to claim self-defense if you chased him down (even if he threw a punch and ran).

I don't know who did what or why, I just know it's not that hard to not get arrested

Yeah, and he's 22, so if you really feel the need to get sauced, at least go to a bar where the amount on alcohol consumption is, at least theoretically, controlled, and you can't stay there all hours of the night.

Strong is an Oregon State transfer, not Wazzu. Apparently his brother plays for Wazzu & that's why he was there.

If the witnesses' accounts are accurate, then Strong is toast.
